What does it take to turn an eye for fashion into a career? At Blume & Hall Fashion Academy, students learn to bring their ideas to life, from their first patterns and tailored jackets to evening and bridal wear.

Founded as Arkansas Fashion School by the late designer Jamileh Kamran, the academy has reopened under the leadership of Lara Blume McGee, Ashton Hall and Amanda Morley. Their goal is to give local talent hands-on training and a place to grow without leaving Arkansas.

And this Saturday, Sept. 26, see Ashton’s own designs on the runway at Anatomy Of Love, an immersive fashion show and dinner benefiting the Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation. The event runs from 2–5 p.m. at Chenal Country Club. Tickets are available at ashtonhallcollection.net.

🍽️ Central Arkansas Restaurant Week: Calling all foodies! Central Arkansas Restaurant Week concludes this weekend. For a list of participating restaurants, visit carw.arkansasfoodbank.org. When you eat at a participating restaurant, proceeds from your meal benefit the Arkansas Foodbank. For every $1 donated, the Arkansas Foodbank can help provide five meals to neighbors in need. Eat local and fight hunger. 

🎵 Friday Night Music Series: Friday nights sound better at The Promenade at Chenal! See Ryan Harmon live in the Promenade Courtyard on Friday, Sept. 25, from 6–8 p.m. Grab dinner or drinks from a Promenade restaurant, bring a lawn chair and settle in for a great evening of live music.

🚲 Big Dam Bridge 100: The BDB 100 celebrates the landmark that gives it its name: the 4,226-foot “Big Dam Bridge” over the Arkansas River, the longest bridge built for pedestrians and cyclists in North America. Connecting Little Rock and North Little Rock, it links more than 40 miles of scenic riverside trails. Riders can choose a route from 15 to 105 miles and enjoy the views along the way! Packet pickup and in-person registration are today, Friday, Sept. 25, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Statehouse Convention Center, Hall 3.
