“Google’s $4 billion investment in its new facility, its $25 million energy impact fund and its investment in the future of our students demonstrates what lasting community impacts a project of this magnitude can have,” Laura Landreaux said. “Entergy Arkansas is committed to powering growth and building a stronger, more vibrant future for the next generation and has found a partner in Google, who shares this same vision.”

In October, Google announced plans to build a $4 billion data center in West Memphis. The internet giant will do so in partnership

LETTER FROM OUR PUBLISHER, Heather Baker:
The only bad thing about the Christmas season is that it has to end. I suppose its appearance once a year helps us appreciate it more though. If only we could carry the Christmas spirit with us throughout the entire calendar year.

We are not done with Christmas just yet, however, and this December issue of Arkansas Money & Politics is like a stocking filled to the brim with goodies.

Our industry focuses this month are. manufacturing, energy and long-term care, and we will also recognize our “Power Women” for 2025.

Inside, our award-winning staff looks at future trends in manufacturing, how factories are evolving to become more innovative, the supply chain postpandemic and even how a local focus on the Sparta Aquifer in south Arkansas has helped Union County keep and attract industry.

On the energy side, we profile Entergy Arkansas boss Laura Landreaux, take a look at the burgeoning lithium industry in Arkansas and explore how one company is tackling the problem of where to park big rigs.

We will also check out trends in home-based care for seniors and the rise of recuperative services in senior care.

Plus, our “Digs of the Deal” feature will visit the Lum and Abner Jot ‘Em Down Store and Museum in Pine Ridge, and we will take a quick look at the new Head Hog on the Hill.

There is lots to digest and enjoy. The only things missing from this stocking are candy canes and Reese’s. As always, thank you for reading and helping make AMP a go-to for positive stories about the people who make Arkansas run. Here is wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
