Local Spotlight: Pig Sticker
How did you come up with the name Pig Sticker?
It’s been so long we don’t have a definite answer to where exactly it comes from! Austin (Drums) and Chance (Guitar) came up with the name Pig Sticker when they were in around 8th grade. It’s a term generally used to describe a large knife and they likely just thought it sounded cool lol
Who are your biggest influences?
We all draw from a variety of influences but to name a few from each of us: Slipknot, Pantera, Death, Sickshine, Bleeding Through, Copsodomy, Acid Bath, Slayer, Cannibal Co**se, Municipal Waste, Norma Jean, The Chariot, and the list goes on!
Who are some of your favorite locals to work with?
We love working the most with the bands we’ve befriended along the way and to name just a few Render, Mammoth Caravan, Blast, Fred, By Mourning, Pending Approval, Spring Hollow, and many more! At the end of the day we’ll play with anybody. We love giving newer bands the opportunity to show their stuff so if you’re just getting started holler at us!
