I brought these two new goodies to Y’allternative Market this past weekend, and the little hanging baby trinket holder has already been snatched up! I personally would love for someone to use the hand for rings—I don’t have enough rings for that to make sense for me. I wanted to make rings to put on it but I haven’t been able to yet—maybe someone else has enough rings to make this hand fancy!!

I have more things a-coming, and I’ll be working on updating my site to list things online (FINALLY)✨

I’m doing something DIFFERENT for 2nd Friday Art Night tonight at CALS, the main library downtown!!

I’ve made 65 single signature junk journals and have ways for folks to make their own! Paper, cardboard, and SO MANY art supplies so you can decorate your own.

I don’t think I’m supposed to claim a favorite, but it’s definitely the last one…

I’m still swooning over these moss rug coasters—but then, I’m still excited about Bazzy’s giant sensory moss rug so I guess that makes sense.

I like that my shelves at Y’allternative Market are turning into the spot where I can put anything that I think brings a touch of whimsy to the everyday. The little trinket holders feel witchy and mystical, all of my paintings are florals that I’m super proud of, the fabric work is all creative reuse, patchworked, and hand-stitched for the necklaces and Milagros, and the rest is either wire-wrapped or assembled via found or repurposed objects that often find themselves in a landfill: specifically why I keep grabbing plastic baby dolls and Barbie dolls and trying to find multiple ways to use their parts!

Okay, maybe it can be a little macabre—but I like it. I like the idea of people entering my home and seeing all the neat handmade unique things made with items that are often found or repurposed—because literally no one will have that item.

I never wanna be one of those homes where everything is beige with empty walls and clear counters. Gimme weird s**t all day every day.

Omg just LOOK at how cute they are!! I’m a sucker for sensory things and yes, these are soooft yarns that feel so nice to run your hand over! I said that I was gonna make these for a few months now—and I finally did it!

I kept pushing off taking things to Y’allternative Market until I had enough finished to really fill up space on my shelves, but I told myself to stop doing that and just take things already!

I loved this mask when I made it for Gauge last year but don’t really have a need to keep it/a purpose for it on my own, so I’m passing it on to be one of my more niche costume items on the shelves.

Other than that, I spend time sculpting, repurposing, sawing and sanding, and finally have my trinket holder hands, more of my pocket necklaces, this amazing baby doll arm necklace holder, and more over in the space!

I don’t have anything online but I’m down to discuss if anyone *not* in the area feels so inspired. Just let me know! Otherwise, I’ll be here working on more goodies to take over—I have things in progress and I’m SO excited about ALL of it!

Last Sunday I started this dress, hoping to have something to wear for pride. I was about five inches away from the end before it would be done, the morning of (on Saturday).

Once henna slowed down enough, during the parade, I was able to finish it and weave a ribbon through the top and attach it onto me as though it was like a drawstring bag.

And I AM SO PROUD OF IT! In one week, I whipped out my rainbow pride dress and I don’t think anyone can understand the excitement of actually finishing this dress in time for Pride!!

In this video you may see a Christmas tree, but when I say “things take a while” for me to be able to post about it, I’m not kidding! I’ll be making more of these wire masks in the future but right now, I’m finishing up some creative reuse projects with a collection of baby doll heads and limbs 😂

I also am thinking of putting the outer mask (that opens and closes) over at Y’allternative! Since I do still have that piece but there’s nothing I can really do with it.

Would anyone local be interested in that one?

Things that ~didn’t get their flowers:

I came across this on my insta and was like “woah! I’m so impressed w myself! I remember when I made this WHOLE LITTLE SCULPTURE OF THE GOING MERRY OUT OF TRASH” and I was super proud of how it turned out!

Then I saw it only got 6 likes.

The internet is funny that way, and I have to remind myself that likes or views really doesn’t mean squat when it comes to determining if it’s good or not. Because I know it is—I make things and I’m more critical than anyone I know! I KNOW when something I make can use more work and when something I do actually impresses me—and this impressed me, but it was never really acknowledged by the internet so then I kinda forgot about it.

So here she is again: the Going Merry from One Piece made out of paper, paper trash, and some jute twine!

In today’s episode of “things that I made that didn’t get their flowers” but I was stoked on: for last Christmas, I made a batch of these necklaces. They’re each a little pocket and range in sizes. Some can hold crystals, some (because requested) can hold a v**e. Some can hold foldable sewing scissors lol. They’re made with repurposed scrap fabric and even if no one wanted them, I love making them and I think they’re so pretty 😅

They’re at in Sherwood, on my Grunge Granny shelves!
