Facts About Our Club:
Mission: Divas Leaving No pages Unturned will help uplift, magnify, encourage, respect and provide a nurturing environment for Women of
Color. Another aspect of our mission is to focus on Children & Family while promoting Literacy & giving back our time/donations through
community service projects in the area.
Vision: To inspire all Women we encounter mentally, physically, spiritually by educating encouraging, supporting each other while
utilizing "POSITIVE" energy from one to another through lifelong friendships & sisterhood.
History: The club was established in 2010 by Founder & Club President Toshona E. Carter. Requests were made to her from a small group of sister-friends (due to Ms. Carter previously being in two other book clubs that had dissolved) to use her experience to start a local club here in Little Rock, Arkansas. The club had its first official meeting Saturday, July 17th, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. at Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, Little Rock, Arkansas. On this day, four members joined the club.
This book club is only open to African American Women of Color. Over the years, the club has grown to over twenty members at one time, but due to lifestyle changes and Covid we currently have around 10 members.
Meetings: The Club meet the 3rd Saturdays of each month. Promoting Authors & Giving back to the Community through Community Service Projects are the Main Two Components that make up our Club. Which makes us different from most book clubs.
The club is listed on the National Book Club Registry for the State of Arkansas & the AALBC (African American Literature Book Club) Book
Club Directory.
