As a reminder, the LARK meeting is this coming Saturday (17th November). The presentation for this month is a presentation by John, K6MM, on his experiences from the recent KH1/KH7Z DXpedition to Baker Island. It had been 16 years since the last KH1 activation. The team logged almost 70,000 QSOs in 9 days, working under rather harsh conditions near the equator. The Baker Island expedition was the first DXpedition to use the new “dxpedition mode” with FT8. More than 6,000 FT8 QSOs were logged.

NEW TO OUR CLUB?Member Profiles is especially designed for you! (Although we love featuring our long-time members too, so really, it’s for everyone.) This column is anywhere from half a page to two pages which is All About You, to share with Us, your LARK family. The 4 classic interview questions are: 1. How did you first get involved with Amateur Radio? 2. What do you like doing with LARK? 3. What are your future plans regarding Amateur Radio? 4. What is one of your mottos for life? And, if you’re game for it, there are lots more questions … look at previous L.N. issues to see what other interviewees did. Want to participate? Please contact me directly. Thanks, Jeana KK6KZT Lark News Ed. Deadline to submit for next month’s publication is Midnight the Tuesday following Saturday’s General Meeting. Exceptions made when possible.

Greetings 2018 Field Day Participants and readers of LARK NEWS …
Would you like to share your Field Day results in LARK NEWS? Please use this format for consistency. Please use Arial font, 12 pitch when responding, and send me your comments in the text format I have given as an example, NOT bulleted, this will require too much space.

Essential information:
1. Name
2. Call Sign
3. Number of contacts made
4. On what frequency
5. Time operating (approximate)
6. Locations reached

More detail if you wish:
• Most interesting contact and why
• Difficulties experienced and how you overcame them, or didn’t
• Other comments (please be succinct)

Example of how a brief entry might look:

Pablo Picasso, PP6ART. Total contacts 200 on 2 meters over 6 hours on Sat. Reaching stations in Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia, Spain and Lisbon, Portugal.

Please consider doing this while your data is handy and it’s fresh in your mind. The official deadline is July 23, to be included in August LARK NEWS. Send your FD Results to [email protected] and put LARK NEWS in the subject line.

Thanks, Jeana KK6KZT, LARK NEWS Editor
