Charlotte Lane Publishing/Elizabeth Connell This is really an author page. I have two book published and available: The Accident, and The Intrigue. The third of the series is in the works. (Sept. 2020)

It is called, "The Hope", and is in rough draft now. "Two Suitors", a Regency story of Redemption is set in 1812 England. Yes, it is a romance.

I don't have news, just letting you know my status. I have been making changes to my book, (The Hope). While editing it, I realized it was too short! So in my editing, I have added some new data to embellish the story. There are many minor characters who are perfect for digging into their lives. It is so rewarding to sit at my kitchen table with my tea and some blank pages to jot down episodes for my characters. It is amazing how easy it is to become one with them and imagine their lives. Before you know it, I have 3 or 5 or 12 new pages.
My friend and fellow writer - Jane Susan Maccarter is in my women's writing group and is currently coming out with a new book this week. So exciting!

Hello friends, the pandemic is still a threat to us all, and staying home has gotten to be a habit. Now is the time to rake up all those leaves from my neighbor's trees - as usual. So, I will go out and do that for a couple hours, then get back to my editing.
Editing is not easy - I wrote lots of words that have to be sacrificed in this process. But that's part of the scene (ironic).
I find that I am a passive writer if I don't watch it. But after all, I am an introvert. I have some interesting conversations with myself when the AutoCrit program tells me to change 'felt' or whatever, to something else.
My characters have lots of feelings and I need to show them, don't I? When I read a book, I am looking for the people's feelings, after all. My last book - The Intrigue included a war. This one includes a honeymoon! But I like writing about love more than war.

Here it is - the end of August, 2021, and guess what? I am now in the editing phase of my new book - 'The Hope'. I work on the rough draft myself; then I will run it through AutoCrit to see how it stacks up to other books - this all takes a while. Then I decide if I will spend a couple thousand$ (or more) for professional editing.
I did use a professional for my first, 'The Accident', but just used AutoCrit for 'The Intrigue'.
If you read both books, could you tell the difference?

I can't help but be excited - it's been a long road. But there are no short-cuts, so I'll work through the process.
I am still trying to get a website up and running. I keep putting it off because I'm not tech-savvy enough to do it by myself. Stella did some of the basics, but I can't publish it until it is properly set up - then I plan to post weekly on it. Thanks so much for your interest!

OK, I admit that I have been slacking (with temperatures often above 100, can you blame me?). But I do have some news to share. I have been working with Stella on my proposed website and am getting close to publishing it. I am quite excited and have been playing around with subjects for weekly posting on it.
"The Hope" is moving along also. I hope to finish it in the Fall - then will go into the publishing process. Wish me luck! Cheers!

Writing about Darrell Coletrane has been a rewarding experience. From the 'bad boy' in "The Accident" to the hero in "The Intrigue", and now to him in his maturity in "The Hope", he has grown as a man and learned about life.
I'm still finding out new things about him as I write "The Hope". His complexity gives opportunities to explore his psyche.
How will marriage change him?
How will his future take shape?

With March right around the corner, I think it's time to send an updated post. I took a couple months off from my writing, so I hope to get back to the third book in the series, "The Coletrane Series." soon. Believe it or not, I am still looking for someone who can help get an Author Website set up. However, the first two: The Accident and The Intrigue are out on the market.

In addition, I have been hacked or something - friends are getting unusual messages from me, which certainly did not come from me. Do be careful if you get one. Someone had a conversation with him/her and they tried to get additional information. I am trying to resolve the problem, and am sorry for any inconvenience.

Christmas is past and the New Year beckons; what is in store for us? In hopefulness, we look for the best. Yes, we have to still deal with the pandemic, and our new way of living, but our faith will pull us through. Sending wishes for peace and joy to all. Elizabeth

Somehow I am having my patience tested constantly this season. It's not getting me down, because I can't control what others do. So I'm still trying to get some help with setting up my website. Maybe when the holidays are over? I hope so.
I wish you all Happy Holidays and STAY SAFE!

Website: I am diligently working on getting a website for my books. I was able to get "Elizabethconnell.me" for my domain name. How great it that? I will keep you updated.

Nov. 16th - Have you ever had the frustration of being 'locked out' of the internet? Well, it is not nice. I recently had about three weeks during which I had no email, no access to Bookbaby or Amazon, or anything. I could not follow trends or the ranking of my books. Century Link blamed the virus to explain the errors and delays in providing me with a new modem. Thanks to Bob for installing it for me. And also, thanks to my good friend Katie who just sent me word on how much she enjoyed my book, "The Accident" - the first of three books in my "Coletrane Series." She is now reading "The Intrigue" and I can't wait to hear from her about it. I love to hear from my readers.

So today I made a decision to finish editing "The Hope", the third book in my "Coletrane Series." I wrote this one last November during NaNoWriMo: write 50,000 works in 30 days. It was fun to meet the numbers every day. If any of you folks are inclined to meet the challenge, just search NaNoWriMo and give it a try.
I'm still in the marketing stage of the current one. Amazon will release "The Intrigue" print book on October 23rd, but are taking orders to be delivered when released. Of course, it is always available at Bookbaby Bookstore.com - since they print them! I am also offering a Coupon if you buy on Bookbaby. Thanks to everyone who has already gotten their copy!
