When standing at the top of Cathedral Ledge, you look out over the Sacco River Valley towards the white mountains and layers and layers of green.

The granite ledge rises, roughly 700 feet above the valley and while we came for the view, plenty of people came for the climb. Cathedral Ledge and neighboring White Horse Ledge are among New Hampshire‘s best known rock and ice, climbing destinations, with routes running directly up the cliffs beneath the overlook.

Standing safely at the top was breathtaking. We heard the climbers somewhere below us, grunting their way up the granite. We couldn’t see them yet, but we could hear how hard they were working to reach the place where we were standing. Absolutely wild.

It's been a rough day. A late start turned into getting lost, which turned into hitting a curb. Cue the sound of everything flying out of the cabinets.
Several of my plants didn't survive the crash, and our "relaxing" arrival was spent cleaning up broken glass and soil. This travel day tested every ounce of my patience. This ice cream is well deserved!
