UPDATE: It's been a long road, going through draft after draft and story after story. Our last passion project was written, sent through editors, but could never get off the ground. It was a process that ended in total disappointment.
It all started back in 2014 as we looked to write a film entitled "The Conspiracy Theorist" in which a man spewing conspiracies is actually found to be right and kidnapped for his actions. After some concepts for the film were formed and thrown back and forth at the drawing board, the concept was found unoriginal and thrown out.
Soon after, the hype for the game "Silent Hills" inspired us to work on a fan film based on the popular video game franchise that would actually be shot in the real "Silent Hill" of Centralia, Pennsylvania. It would follow a young protagonist trying to make a documentary about the place, only to find that it is all real. It would've been based off of the real life history of the area. After concept art was made and concepts were thrown around, a script was never written due to the fact that the money to make the movie did not seem feasible. Then the game of "Silent Hills" was scrapped and killed the hype, which was later continued but changed entirely to the new game coming out soon "Death Stranding".
We went through some more concepts, and in January 2016, we started the script for a film entitled "OAK STREET" which was based on the Oak Street Brigade, a fan group formed for the now disbanded Rochester Rhinos. It had a lot of heart, but after about a year of back and forth between writers and editors, it fell through.
We were back to the drawing board. In October 2017, the concept for a new horror film was formed. A draft of the first scene was written to help pitch the idea. Then months later an outline was formed over time to mold the story starting in March of 2018, then finished that July. We found people passionate about the project and formed the story around them. The writer of the script would also be the director. Finally, on August 23, we began our journey through a script. By September 1, the rough draft was finished. During our time of editing, we casted an assistant director, a co-director, a set designer and film editor. After many more drafts and edits, the final draft of the film was started on August 30, 2019 and is currently in development.
A sizzle reel is set to be filmed October 27, 2019.
