After 118 years, Logan and Athens will face off tonight for the 100th time. The first game in the storied rivalry took place in Athens in 1907. The Bulldogs won that game 5-0. Since then, Logan has held the advantage with a 54-40-5 record over the Bulldogs.

Last season's records:
Athens - 10-2, 2nd place in the TVC - Ohio (5-1). Lost to Steubenville in the second round of the playoffs.
Logan - 1-10, rough first year in the OCC Buckeye Conference. Key victory: defeated TVC - Ohio Champion Nelsonville 19-0. Nelsonville handed Athens their only regular season defeat last year.

Tonight Athens and Logan will compete not just for bragging rights, but also to bring home the Dunn-Metters Memorial Trophy. Named for these community's long-time storytellers and newspaper men, Tom Metters of Athens andCraig Dunn of Logan. Both men were sports editors of the Athens Messenger and Logan Daily News respectively and were avid supporters and historians for the two schools' athletic programs.
