Logan wins 22-15 at Scott in a Class AA prep football matchup via a go-ahead six-yard touchdown run by Carter Frye with 40 seconds left in the game. Frye also notched the game-sealing interception on the Skyhawks’ next drive. Scoring and quarter-by-quarter updates were unable to be provided due to poor internet connection at Boone Memorial Health Field.

The Wildcats (4-2) host Mingo Central Oct. 16 while Scott (2-4) is home the same day against Roane County.

CHAPMANVILLE – Chapmanville’s co-ed soccer team outscored its two opponents this week 14-1, as the Tigers downed county rival Logan 7-1 at home on Sept. 29 before grabbing a 7-0 home win over Mingo Central the following day.

Chapmanville High’s athletic program has been placed on a two-year probation period and the defending state champion boys basketball Tigers are on probation for three years as the result of a West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission investigation, the West Virginia Department of Education said in a release Thursday, Oct. 1.
