📣 Piedmont Eastside Welcomes New Medical Oncologist, Dr. Sami Ali!
Expanding access to advanced cancer care in Gwinnett County
Piedmont Eastside Medical Center and Piedmont Oncology have announced that board-certified hematologist/medical oncologist Dr. Sami Ali has joined their team. Dr. Ali brings years of experience caring for patients with lung cancer, colorectal cancer, blood disorders, and more.

Before coming to Gwinnett, Dr. Ali spent eight years at The Oncology Institute in Los Angeles, providing comprehensive cancer care and contributing to clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.

Piedmont leaders say his arrival marks an important expansion of cancer care services in the county.

Dr. Ali is now accepting new patients and works with most major insurance plans.

🕯️ Tragic Update: Loganville CVS Shooting Victim succumbs to injuries
We are saddened to report that Kimberly Whaley, 62, of Loganville, has died from injuries sustained in Friday’s shooting outside the CVS on Atlanta Highway.

She was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition after being shot in the parking lot. Authorities confirmed her passing Sunday afternoon.

A person of interest was taken into custody, but no charges have been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Sgt. Clint Kitchens at 770-466-8087.

UPDATE: Victim Airlifted After Loganville CVS Shooting
Authorities have confirmed that the victim in Friday’s Loganville CVS shooting is a woman who sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

Emergency crews from Loganville Fire and Walton EMS provided treatment at the scene before the woman was airlifted to Grady Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Investigators continue to process the scene and follow leads connected to the suspect, who was later taken into custody in Lawrenceville.

Lawrenceville Police have located a vehicle connected to the Loganville CVS shooting on West Crogan Street near Culver Street.

The driver was taken into custody without incident, and the vehicle will be turned over to Loganville Police for further investigation.

Authorities say the quick use of FLOCK cameras helped officers track down the car shortly after a BOLO alert was issued.

Had a chance to attend the grand opening of Christopher’s Bar & Grill. As you may recall, I loved the cheesesteak last week. Today I had some oxtail, shrimp, salt fish fritters and jerk chicken wings. All of it was incredible! If you haven’t tried yet, give them a shot! What do you think?
