I won't bother to congratulate the Democrats for not attacking the Capitol and trying to stop the constitutionally-required final reporting of the results of the Electoral College vote today.

Because, certifying the Electoral College vote is required, and the right thing to do, and normal.

Folks don't need praise for simply doing what is required, and right, and normal.

But, I will descend into the bizarre foolishness of this black anniversary for one moment and point out the obvious fact that Trump Republicans have made the Democrats look like constitutionalists, and moralists, and normal Americans, by comparison with themselves.

Nothing in our time has empowered the radical left in America, and the Democrat Party, more than Trumpism. Because, it has handed over the political high ground, not just for a moment, but for the next generation. They won this election, somehow, by hook or by crook. But, it's a pyrrhic victory.

Fascism or communism. That was the fallacious choice presented to the German people in the 1930s. Instead of being wise and saying no to both, they chose fascism as 'the lesser evil.' What did they get? A dozen years of a vicious, murderous dictator, millions of their countrymen dead, their country lying in rubble, followed by a large piece of their country under the jackboot of 'the greater evil' for a generation. Sadly, Americans are now on a similar foolish path. Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Stop kidding yourself, Christians. Every child conceived in America will still be able to be aborted under the Trump rubric. The only real difference between the two "major party" candidates are some meaningless labels and a vanishingly small disagreement over the location and timing of when they can murder the child.

Neither Harris-ism nor Trump-ism is America's main problem. Rather, these are symptoms of America's main problem, which is the abandonment of the simple self-evident truths of our nation's founding. Without God we can do nothing. Without God we can expect no real security. Without God the foundations of liberty and of national prosperity will be swept away, as surely as sand castles on a beach must be erased by the next incoming tide.
