Role Summary:*The WASH Officer will coordinate WASH activities in target communities and support planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of WASH programs. The role includes technical support, hygiene promotion, water quality testing, and capacity building of community structures.

Responsibilities:

* Adhere to FUCABI policies, tools, handbooks, guidelines and procedures
* Coordinate the WASH activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
* Assist the WASH Project Coordinator in all aspects of WASH programs planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
* Develop technical specifications and bills of quantities (BOQ) for works
* Assess the WASH training needs of community-based workers and assist in development of appropriate training materials and plans
* Conduct water quality testing and sanitary inspection at water points
* Provide technical support to WASH Assistants and local counterparts on WASH information and communication strategies
* Conduct hygiene promotion, awareness and sensitization activities within communities, schools and other target locations to promote safe water, sanitation, handwashing and good hygiene practices
* Organize and facilitate community awareness and sensitization sessions on prevention of waterborne diseases and other hygiene-related risks
* Assist in the establishment and training of water point committees as well as monitor their performance
* Assist in compilation of weekly and monthly WASH reports, program documents, project proposals, and budgets
* Ensure adherence to FUCABI policies and donor requirements
* Ensure procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures
* Maintain accurate records and prepare basic weekly and monthly reports

*Education:*

* BSc/HND in Civil or Water Engineering, Geology, Hydrology or any other relevant field required

Experience:

* Minimum 3 years experience working with WASH projects in a humanitarian/recovery context required
* Previous 2 years work experience in community-based Water and Sanitation programs in a similar position required
* Experience working with an INGO is desirable
* Experience from working with social work and/or distribution of humanitarian assistance is an advantage

Skills:

* Must know emergency Water supply, Hygiene, and sanitation requirements and protocols
* Familiarity with international minimum standards of Water and Sanitation delivery i.e. SPHERE is an advantage
* Excellent communication skills - written and spoken - in English required
* Fluency in Hausa and/or Kanuri is desirable
* Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheets required
* Familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS, ArcGIS and Google Earth is strongly desirable
* Must be willing to work as a team member, take direction, and share technical skills with colleagues and counterparts

- Plan and implement livelihood and economic empowerment activities in project communities
- Mobilize and engage beneficiaries, including women, youth, and vulnerable groups
- Conduct field visits, community meetings, trainings, and sensitization sessions
- Lead data collection activities, including baseline, monitoring, and post-intervention assessments
- Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices from livelihood interventions
- Maintain accurate records of beneficiary data and activity outputs in line with project requirements
- Coordinate with community leaders, local authorities, and relevant stakeholders at the field level
- Ensure adherence to FUCABI’s safeguarding, accountability, and code of conduct policies during all activities

Education:

- Minimum HND or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Economics, Development Studies, Sociology, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or any related field required

Experience:

- At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in livelihoods, economic empowerment, community development, or humanitarian/development work required
- Strong skills in project implementation, community engagement, and monitoring

Skills:

- Ability to communicate effectively in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage
- Proficiency in data collection, documentation, and report writing

Role Summary:* The Community Nutrition Officer will support FUCABI’s community-based nutrition interventions by identifying children at risk of or experiencing malnutrition, providing basic nutrition screening and counselling, and ensuring timely referral of malnourished children to Stabilization Centres, health facilities, or other appropriate nutrition services. The officer will also facilitate caregiver education and Mother-to-Mother Support Groups.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct community-level nutrition screening of children, particularly children under five years of age
- Identify children showing signs of acute malnutrition using approved screening procedures and tools, including MUAC and assessment for oedema
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of children identified during screening
- Maintain confidentiality and treat all children and caregivers with dignity and respect
- Refer children identified with severe or complicated malnutrition to Stabilization Centres or appropriate health facilities per established protocols
- Refer children with moderate malnutrition to appropriate community or outpatient nutrition services
- Follow up with caregivers to encourage completion of referrals and adherence to recommended treatment
- Coordinate with health workers, nutrition partners, Stabilization Centres and other service providers
- Monitor referred cases and report challenges affecting access to services
- Conduct nutrition education sessions for parents, caregivers and community members
- Educate caregivers on age-appropriate, diverse and nutritious diets for children
- Demonstrate safe and hygienic preparation of complementary foods using locally available and affordable ingredients
- Promote appropriate breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices per national and program guidance
- Educate caregivers on food hygiene, safe water, handwashing, food storage and preparation
- Address common misconceptions and harmful traditional practices related to child nutrition
- Establish and facilitate Mother-to-Mother Support Groups within target communities
- Support mothers and caregivers to share practical experiences, challenges and solutions related to child feeding and nutrition
- Organize practical cooking demonstrations using locally available nutritious foods
- Promote peer-to-peer support and positive nutrition practices among caregivers
- Identify caregivers requiring additional counselling or referral to specialized services
- Conduct community sensitization on child malnutrition, early identification, prevention and referral
- Engage community leaders, women’s groups, health volunteers and other community structures to promote good nutrition practices
- Encourage caregivers to seek early medical and nutrition support when children show signs of illness or malnutrition
- Maintain accurate records of children screened, identified, referred and followed up
- Prepare regular activity reports, including screening, referrals, caregiver sessions and Mother-to-Mother Support Group activities
- Ensure data is collected and managed in accordance with FUCABI’s confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection procedures
- Participate in programme review meetings and contribute to nutrition assessments and planning

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma or Diploma in Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing, Community Health, Food Science, or a related field required

Experience:

- Experience working in community nutrition, CMAM/IMAM, IYCF, child health or humanitarian programmes is an advantage
- Practical knowledge of identifying and referring children with acute malnutrition
- Experience facilitating caregiver education, cooking demonstrations or community support groups

Skills:

- Good understanding of infant and young child feeding (IYCF) and community-based nutrition programming
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work respectfully with communities and vulnerable children and families
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare basic reports

Role Summary: The Child Protection Officer will provide technical guidance, training, mentoring, and ongoing support to community-based case workers to strengthen the identification, documentation, referral, and follow-up of children at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence, and other protection concerns. The officer will work closely with community case workers, community leaders, service providers, and relevant government and humanitarian actors to ensure children receive timely, appropriate, confidential, and child-centred support.

Responsibilities:*
- Train, mentor, and provide technical support to community case workers on child protection principles, case identification, safe referrals, documentation, and follow-up
- Support community case workers to identify children at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence, child labour, separation, and other protection concerns
- Ensure that identified cases are properly assessed, documented, prioritised, and referred to appropriate service providers
- Strengthen community case workers’ understanding of safe and appropriate referral pathways and available child protection services
- Provide regular coaching and supervision to community case workers to improve the quality of case management and community-based protection activities
- Support the establishment and maintenance of updated referral directories and service mapping for child protection and related services
- Monitor referrals to ensure that children and their caregivers are appropriately connected to relevant services, while maintaining confidentiality and informed consent
- Promote child safeguarding, PSEA, confidentiality, non-discrimination, inclusion, and the best interests of the child in all activities
- Support community awareness sessions on child protection risks, available services, reporting mechanisms, and prevention strategies
- Identify gaps in child protection services and communicate emerging protection concerns to the supervisor for appropriate action
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of activities, referrals, training, mentoring, and follow-up
- Prepare regular reports on child protection activities, challenges, achievements, referrals, and recommendations
- Coordinate with relevant government departments, community structures, NGOs, service providers, and other stakeholders where appropriate
- Ensure that all interventions follow applicable Child Protection Minimum Standards, safeguarding principles, Do No Harm, and accountability to affected populations

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Development Studies, Education, or a related field required

Experience:

- Relevant experience in child protection, case management, community-based protection, social work, or humanitarian programming required
- Experience in training, mentoring, or supervising community-based workers or volunteers
- Experience working with vulnerable children, caregivers, and communities is an advantage

Skills:
