September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. 🎗️
Since Gabriella’s leukemia diagnosis, I’ve learned how much the little things matter when you’re navigating treatment. Other parents in our ALL group wanted an easy way to add gold ribbon frames to their photos without dealing with clunky design apps or Canva, so I built one.
It’s free, runs right in your browser, and your photos never leave your device: gogold.serenaalfaro.com (link in bio)
Adding the gold ribbon turns everyday photos into a visual reminder across our feeds, helping more people notice the cause and start asking questions.
If you’re looking for other ways to support childhood cancer families this month:
• Donate blood or platelets: pediatric oncology patients rely heavily on transfusions during treatment.
• Join the marrow registry: signing up with NMDP (Be The Match) takes a simple cheek swab.
• Support pediatric cancer research: less than 4% of federal cancer research funding goes toward childhood cancers. Organizations like Alex’s Lemonade Stand and St. Jude help close that gap.
• Adapt the tool: the code is open source on GitHub
(github.com/serenaalfaro/go-gold-frame) if you want to use it for another cause or awareness month.
