While dozens of companies have suddenly retreated from DEI efforts this year, leaders in inclusivity say there’s reason to be hopeful that this work is continuing—albeit more quietly than before.

Say hello to the Houston litigation boutique of Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Mensing P.C., a firm that’s more commonly known as “AZA.” We’ve confirmed that the firm will go over and above the Cravath salary scale for first-year associates, pushing their annual compensation to $235,000. Second-year associates at the firm will also receive a $10,000 raise.

More Women Are Leaving the Workforce. Here’s What You Can Do About It. → Democrats are quizzing the Department of Labor over why women are quitting work, and demanding an investigation.

About 330,000 women aged 20 and over have left the U.S. workforce since the beginning of 2025, even as over 103,000 men have joined the workforce, new data show. The gender-skewed trend has concerned the U.S. House of Representatives’ Democratic Women’s Caucus enough that the group has written to the Department of Labor to draw attention to the trend, saying some of those departures are not entirely by choice, http://HRDive.com reports.

Is job hunting entering its Tinder era? And it’s making everyone miserable.

Like online dating, online job platforms can make finding a job as easy as swiping left or right. But many job sites work by compiling listings pulled from LinkedIn or SEEK and don’t track when those roles have been filled. That leaves hopefuls lobbing applications at a closed door. Some companies also appear to list jobs that don’t actually exist, or intentionally leave up ads for jobs that are already filled.

Employers keep “ghost jobs” up to appear like they’re growing or for brand awareness, or to hedge their bets in case a recent hire doesn’t work out. But the biggest driver of the trend is the desire to build a talent pool for future needs. Chief futurist at research group ThinkerTank, Dr Ben Hamer, says it’s a strategy that will blow back on employers in the end.
