Traffic Collision: 9/9/26 6:50 | Eastbound 91 Freeway at Long Beach Blvd; CHP, LBFD are on scene of a traffic collision in the carpool lane with one vehicle on its roof. LBFD is assessing the occupants. CHP will have multiple lanes closed for an unknown duration.

LBPD Press Release:

Homicide detectives are investigating the September 7, 2026, death of a female adult victim.

On September 7, 2026, at approximately 5:19 a.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Long Beach Boulevard regarding a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a female adult victim with a gunshot wound. Officers rendered medical aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and relieved them. Fire personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene. Suspect information, motive, and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the next of kin notification by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.

LBFD Feed Announcement: 9/7/26; We have added LBFD V4 to our LBFD broadcastify feed for the time being. Channel 4 is the marine bureau and lifeguards which we seldom broadcast due to a ton of sting ray calls, etc.

Given the storm surge and inundated peninsula it might aid residents get real time information from LBFD.

Shooting: 9/7/26 5:25 | 1900 Block of Long Beach Blvd; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a shooting near this location. The female victim has a GSW to the upper body and is not conscious and not breathing. LBPD is providing aid until LBFD arrives. A male person of interest was taken into custody in a nearby parking lot.

Update: 5:42; Truck 7, Rescue 3 is transporting the victim to an area hospital.

Long Beach Blvd will be closed in both directions for the investigation.

Update: 5:45; Casings have been recovered.

Stabbing: 9/6/26 12:30 | 3700 Block of Orange Ave; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a stabbing near this location. It sounds like this is the result of a domestic dispute. The female victim has lacerations to the extremities. The male suspect has been detained on scene by LBPD. LBFD is assessing the victim

LBPD Press Release about the fatal traffic collision we were asked about on 9/5

TRAFFIC FATALITY - LONG BEACH BOULEVARD AND EAST 23RD STREET

Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a traffic collision that occurred on September 5, 2026, resulting in the death of an adult pedestrian.

At approximately 8:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Long Beach Boulevard and East 23rd Street regarding a fatal hit and run traffic collision involving a vehicle and an adult pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers located the pedestrian lying on the Metro Light Rail Vehicle tracks of Long Beach Boulevard. The pedestrian was determined to be deceased upon arrival.

The preliminary investigation revealed an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Long Beach Boulevard, when it struck the pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was subsequently struck by the Metro Light Rail Vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene of the collision.

The identity of the decedent is pending identification by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.

At this time, it is not known if speed, distracted driving, or impaired driving contributed to this collision.

Deceased person: 8/25/26 07:13 1400 block Cedar Ave; LBFD, LBPD are on scene of a deceased person in the area. Vault Fire: Area of Broadway & Redondo Ave | 8/23/26 18:50; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a multiple small fires in the area including pole fires, transformers blowing, a fire in an electrical vault, and a small vegetation fire near a house. Battalion Chief 1 is incident command, Engine 4,17,14 are fire attack. LBPD is closing Broadway between Euclid and Redondo. Edison has been requested.

Update: 18:59; LBFD is advising nobody is injured at this time.

Collision w/ fire apparatus: 8/22/26 01:10: LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a traffic collision involving rescue 12. The ambulance had a patient inside of the rig when the collision occurred and was transported to a hospital via rescue 11. The fire personnel and the other driver was not hurt. Both vehicles are awaiting tows.
