Collision Investigation Detail detectives are investigating a traffic collision that occurred on June 26, 2025 which resulted in the death of a male adult.

At approximately 10:27 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Redondo Avenue and Anaheim Street regarding an injury traffic collision.

Upon arrival, officers observed Long Beach Fire Department personnel treating an adult male for injuries sustained in the collision. Despite their efforts, the male was determined to be deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by a 27-year-old resident of Long Beach, was traveling northbound on Redondo Avenue when it sideswiped a pickup truck, being driven by a 63-year-old resident of Lomita. The collision caused the motorcycle rider to lose control, and he then collided with the curb. The motorcycle rider was then ejected. The driver of the pickup truck returned to the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

At this time, speed appears to be a factor in the collision.

The decedent’s identification is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office.
