Homicide detectives are investigating what is believed to be a murder-suicide that occurred on Dec. 19, 2025 in the 1500 block of Summit Street and the 1600 block of West 19th Street.

At approximately 10:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shots call in the 1500 block of Summit Street. Upon arrival, officers located a female adult victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers rendered medical aid until being relieved by Long Beach Fire Department personnel. The victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

At approximately 10:58 p.m., officers received information about a second shooting in the 1600 block of West 19th Street. Officers located a male adult subject with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the male subject to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates the male subject from the second shooting and the female victim from the first shooting were in a dating relationship. They were involved in a domestic violence incident, which escalated when the man shot the woman on Summit Street. The man then fled the area. He sustained what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound on West 19th Street.

At this time, detectives do not believe there are outstanding suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.

The female victim has been identified as Daisy Uribe, a 23-year-old resident of Long Beach.

The identification of the male is pending until the next of kin has been identified.
