Structure Fire: 11/16/25 11:10 | 1300 block of West 11th Street (Major cross streets: 710/ Anaheim) LBFD, LBPD are on scene of a multi story commercial structure with smoke showing from the front of the structure. Engine 3 is fire attack, Truck 1 is ventilation and Battalion Chief 1 is incident command. LBPD requested for traffic control.

Update: 11:19; LBFD is advising the fire is knocked down on the second story and did not spread to the first. Primary search on the first floor is complete

Deceased person: 11/13/25 15:11 1800 block of Gardenia Ave; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a deceased person in their truck. LBFD tried life-saving measures, but was unsuccessful and determined the subject deceased on scene. Per the calling party, the subject lived in their truck and was homeless. Unknown circumstances at this time.

TRAFFIC FATALITY - EAST ANAHEIM STREET AND ALAMITOS AVENUE

Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Nov. 12, 2025, which resulted in the death of a female adult.

At approximately 10:25p.m., officers responded to East Anaheim Street and Alamitos Avenueregarding a fatal traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers located a female adult pedestrian laying in the roadway. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and determined thepedestrian deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 1997 Chevrolet Sierra was traveling westbound on East Anaheim Street, when it struck the pedestrian, who was in the roadway outside of a crosswalk. The driver remained onscene and cooperated with the investigation.

Speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving are not believed to be contributing factors in the collision.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the decedent and notify the next of kin

Structure Fire: 11/13/25 6:57: Anaheim Street & Termino Ave; LBFD, LBPD are on scene at Casa Sanchez restaurant with heavy fire and smoke showing. Engine 4 is fire attack, Truck 17 is ventilation, and Battalion Chief 2 is incident command.

Update: 6:59; LBFD is requesting a second alarm for heavy fire.

Vehicle vs pedestrian: 11/13/25 00:27 Pac Coast Hwy & Oregon Ave; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a female that was hit by a vehicle. The female has major trauma and LBFD says it doesn’t look good for her. She was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. The streets will be blocked off pending outcome at the hospital. The vehicle stayed on scene and is cooperating. Avoid the area.

Structure Fire: 10/26/25 13:01 | San Gabriel Ave & Willard Street in the villages at Cabrillo (Major cross streets CA 103 & CA 1); LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a structure fire in a bungalow with heavy fire and smoke showing. Engine 3 is fire attack, Truck 7 is ventilation, and Battalion Chief 3 is incident command. Crews are also attacking the fire from highway 103.

LBPD Press Release about the homicide we posted early this morning:

MURDER INVESTIGATION – 100 BLOCK OF LA VERNE AVENUE

Homicide detectives are investigating an Oct. 25, 2025 murder of a male adult victim in the 100 block of La Verne Avenue.

At approximately 1:39 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of La Verne Avenue regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim who had been struck by gunfire. Officers rendered medical aid until the arrival of Long Beach Fire Department personnel, however, the victim was determined deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates a group of subjects got into an altercation, related to an incident that started at a local bar earlier in the evening. During the altercation, which occurred outside in the 100 block of La Verne Avenue, a male adult suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.

Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of a male adult that occurred on Oct. 23, 2025, near the 5300 block of Cherry Avenue.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., officers responded to the railroad right-of-way near the 5300 block of Cherry Avenue regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers rendered medical aid until relieved by paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department, who transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene, and the motive and circumstances of the incident are under investigation.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.

Shooting (Homicide) 10/25/25 1:42 | La Verne Ave just south of Second Street ; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a shooting near this location. The victim has a GSW to the upper body. LBPD is providing CPR until LBFD arrives.

Update: a suspect wearing a white shirt and blue jeans was last seen in a silver sedan headed towards Second Street. LBFD also took over CPR rendering aid.

Update: 1:54; LBFD is advising the victim is deceased. A body shield has been requested.
