We did not lose track, however, of the beautiful moments that we’ve experienced with these marvelous migratory creatures.

I built a CA Spanish Mission model in the 4th Grade under the romanticized story that I was taught by my school. 😒

My daughter did not fall for the lies. Instead, in the 4th Grade, she researched the historical truth and wrote an essay to read aloud to her classmates. She acknowledged the California Native Americans by showing up with a “blueprint” on cardboard of the Carmel Mission to show that without the forced labor of the indigenous people of these lands, there would not be any missions! 🥹

Her teacher was impressed by her courage. Her classmates were appreciative of the truth. I was proud of her then but not more than I am proud of her today as she successfully ends her first year at
¡Vamos Azul! 💙💛

That little girl is grown up and is still impacting others with her voice and words. 🥹

One day, we’ll get to share with our future grandchildren that we were present with commUNITY in this historic and meaningful moment that unites the entire world. 👨🏾‍🚀👩🏼‍🚀👨🏼‍🚀👨🏻‍🚀

We needed this collective experience that feels like a gargantuan group hug. 🌖💝🌒

The emotions we felt are many, but one sentiment stands out. Pride. We feel ridiculously PROUD of all the NASA female scientists and engineers that were involved with the Artemis II mission. Seeing them on screen and listening to their voices during this mission has been exceptionally inspiring and special. 🥹🌕🛰️🚀🌒

Because of them, I know that girls of all ages, backgrounds and cultures have been beautifully represented and inspired. 🥹

We love you to the moon and back.
