This is the scene when team USA scored his first goal in the World Cup. Location is the San Diego little Italy free public viewing party. Unlike the mission Bay public viewing, this was much more relaxed and easy-going. No sign-up required, people wandering in and out of the area and much more of cool San Diego thing.

I will never understand how the city Council and Mayor Todd Gloria can allow this to happen. Especially right here across from the convention center with tourists walking by all the time. For one thing it oughta be flat out embarrassing and you know what the visitors are going back telling the friends about San Diego so from a marketing standpoint, it’s a failure.

Of course, from a homeless person standpoint, why change when you can get away with this, hanging out and doing drugs with your friends…

The view from the Mission Beach boardwalk. Partial view. Inside, the viewing is free. IF you can get in to it. Overall, it’s nice to have, but it’s not the big social scene it was promoted to be in San Diego.

Don’t believe the hype . This is the reality. Opening game of World Cup 2026 m official San Diego watch party at Fit Social at Mussion Beach. It’s free to get in, if you’re can get in, but it’s mostly encouraged to buy an $18 front of line pass. Obviously many people did not, and they got a limited view of the screen from the boardwalk.
