RIGHT HERE: And into the future, many of us are now very certain where we stand. The circumstances will be stark for most, even those that think right now that they've won. Most of our Black Sisters and Brothers looked at many of our "allies" with side eye glances. We were skeptical, but hoped that FINALLY the threats made on ALMOST EVERYONE'S FREEDOM would get People to the polls to vote in their own best interests. They did not.
To be clear, White Men, of course, let their Daughters and Sons down. Watch as your children suffer grave reproductive issues. White Women, even worse, because they know directly what can be stripped from them, but once again most said "Not my problem", and "I will listen to the Men and vote for White nostalgia and control. I wonder about all the White Women that will encounter reproductive issues. What DO those Women tell themselves and their reproductive age Children about the risks of Childbirth NOW?
We Black People, even in the face of Voter Suppression, came out and held the line as usual. Our votes weren't just for us. It was for so many important reasons. We did not hold back, worry about alienating Family members or Friends. Every other demographic underperformed for Democrats.
If every other group like Jewish People, Asians, Hispanics, Palestinians, LGBTQ+, Disabled People, YOUNG PEOPLE, etc. had voted for themselves the way Black People did, Democrats would have WON.
My hope, and the hope of our Bohemian Patriot News is that things won't be as bad as I think they will be. I want to live, so I won't hold my breath, though.
If you are safe in your demographic, and yet called yourself an ally, please keep your , and watch out for targeted People and this time actually DO SOMETHING. There are People who really want to rewind progress made in this country.
I really hope the Republicans prove us wrong. I hope we can still learn about TRUE history in most places. I hope there are enough safe haven states so at least not SO many Women will die. I hope the Police don't become even more brutal with unarmed ( Black) People because they have unchecked power. I hope there is a way to stop school shootings.
Many People didn't do enough. For others, it's been too little, too late. For those of us that live and breathe Politics and Policy, AND live in Black skin, we did what we could. Bottom line, People were too quiet, scared to offend. If during all this, you found a voice, learned to Stand Up, don't lose that, ENHANCE AND STRENGTHEN IT.
For Black People, Bohemian Patriot News, other fighters, we need to double down and not give in. Still, . Former POTUS Barack Obama always said, "Don't boo, vote." Now we say, "Don't cry, FIGHT". Be strong, be vigilant, protect your neighbors. REPUBLICANS IT'S ON YOU, you OWN whatever happens for the Country- and the World, going forward. you don't break everything...
