In August of 2001, the founders of The Link News felt a void in this densely populated area of Eastern Monmouth County. Something was missing that was needed to truly cover the news and give advertisers an avenue to attract customers. After one edition, everyone was talking about ‘The Link’ ! Today, The Link News reaches thousands of readers each week. A paid for Newspaper with sales through subsc
riptions, convenience stores, and vending machines insures Link advertisers that the paper is being purchased and read, and not just thrown in the recycling pile. Local events and sports coverage, an aggressive approach to digging for news, incentive-based subscription drives and innovative advertising methods are just some of the reasons for The Link’s success. One thing is certain, Link readers can’t wait for the next edition! We value our readers and respect everyone’s right to follow our page, engage with our content, and share their thoughts in the comments. Healthy dialogue and differing opinions are welcome—that’s part of what makes a free press essential. However, we also have a responsibility to uphold the truth and ensure our comment sections remain safe and respectful spaces for all. That means we will monitor and, when necessary, remove comments that:
🔍 Spread misinformation or baseless conspiracy theories
🚫 Perpetuate hate, discrimination, or harassment
📣 Drown out civil discourse with personal attacks
We won’t tolerate hate speech or harmful rhetoric—users who repeatedly violate these guidelines will be banned. Thank you for being part of our community, and for helping us maintain a space rooted in facts, respect, and journalistic integrity for over 24 years.
