She was gone 10 minutes and I was already running a bath.

Scarlet decided yesterday that she was an explorer now. Straight into the woods like she pays the rent around here.

Which is fine. Let her live. But I do not play when it comes to ticks, especially here in Florida where they’re basically year round.

Just because my kids have four legs doesn’t make it any less chaotic.

Scarlet and Quinn decided my back was the wrestling mat tonight. I sat there getting shoved forward every few seconds pretending I had a peaceful evening planned.

This is what people don’t picture when they hear “dogs.” It’s not calm. It’s not simple. It’s constant movement, constant noise, constant somebody needing something from you.

I wouldn’t trade it. But let’s stop pretending dog life is relaxing.

Every single time. We think we’re just going to throw the comforter on real quick and somehow it turns into a full production with negotiations, sound effects, and at least one dog acting personally offended.

This is our actual Saturday morning. King bed, multiple dogs, zero chance of this being a quiet task.
