Press Release

On 09/23/25 at approximately 9:15 p.m. the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a disturbance in the 600 block of Old Arden Highway south of Colville. Once Deputies were on scene it was determined that 56-year-old Anthony Sparacino had severely assaulted another adult male relative at the residence. That male was taken to Mt. Carmel Hospital via ambulance for his injuries.

Probable cause was developed for Sparacino’s arrest related to the domestic violence incident, but he would not come to the door. Information was developed that Sparacino was alone in the residence and there were multiple fi****ms inside. It was also known that Sparacino had made suicidal ideations in the recent past. Deputies, including a crisis negotiator, continued to attempt to make contact via phone as well as loudspeaker and sirens. A search warrant was written and granted to enter the residence.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. the Stevens County Special Response Team (SRT) was called out and the team was fully assembled on scene at approximately midnight. Colville PD as well as WDFW responded as backup and with drones to assist. Officers from Kettle Falls PD, WSP, and Chewelah PD responded as well.

Contact was eventually made with Sparacino inside the residence. During the entire incident, continual attempt was made to get him to peacefully surrender. From midnight until approximately 2:30 a.m. multiple less than lethal methods were attempted to take him into custody including CS gas and pepper ball. During this time Sparacino indicated he would kill himself or shoot officers.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Sparacino pointed a firearm at law enforcement and three officers fired shots striking Sparacino. Entry was made into the residence where he continued to fight officers. He was taken into custody and aid was immediately rendered for his gunshot wounds. He was taken to Mt. Carmel then flown to Sacred Heart. At the time of this press release Sparacino was in stable condition.

The three involved officers have been placed on administrative leave pending initial investigation, which is normal and routine for these types of incidents. WSP is handling the independent investigation of the incident and will be providing all other media releases. No other releases or media information will be provided by the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office to stay consistent with Washington State law and investigative procedures.

We are continually seeking ways to enhance access to county information. A common concern we've encountered is the reluctance to visit multiple websites or rely on social media for community updates. To address this, we are introducing a pilot program for a county-wide mobile application called Stevens County Connect. We invite your feedback on the app, as we strive to deliver news in a timely, efficient, and transparent manner. We expect some hiccups, the app is still in it's early phases but together we believe this can be a valuable community resource.

Once upon a time, Belle and the Beast united all the Disney fairy tale kingdoms in an idyllic land called Auradon. To ensure peace in Auradon, villains and their sidekicks were banished to the Isle of the Lost, a wretched, magic-free island. Separated by a magical portal, the citizens lived isolated from each other for many years.
Twenty years later, in present day Auradon, Ben - the teenaged son of Belle and the Beast - prepares a speech for his upcoming coronation. Ben reveals his first official decree to his parents: the children on the Isle of the Lost will come to live in Auradon. As a test run, Ben has chosen the children of Maleficent, Evil Queen Grimhilde, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil to leave the Isle to attend Auradon Prep. Terrified of this plan, Belle and the Beast tell their son that this will be his one chance to bring villains into their world; if it fails, the portal between the two worlds will be closed forever.
On the Isle of the Lost, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos - the troublemaking teenaged offspring of those four infamous villains - receive their invitation to leave the Isle to attend school in Auradon. Mal, the leader of the pack, ensures her friends they can stay on the Isle, where they rule the streets
Maleficent, Jafar, Grimhilde, and Cruella arrive to discuss the news with their children. Maleficent identifies an opportunity for revenge: If their children are released into Auradon, they can help the villains take over the free world. Maleficent persuades Mal to go to Auradon, steal Fairy Godmother's wand, and use it to open the portal so that they can rule both worlds together. Mal agrees, and the four friends step through the portal to Auradon.

And so the story begins:

Emma Johnson as Maleficent
Zylee Montgomery as Mal, Maleficent's Daughter
Nahayla Cliett as the Evil Queen Grimhilde
Stephya Kassa as Evie, the Evil Queen's daughter
Azalea Buche as Cruella de Vil
Sylus Mintyala as Carlos, Cruella's son
Zealand Hunt as Jafar
Jason Blair as Jay, Jafar's son
