This one hits close to home. ❤️ The Be A Friend Project came into Emma’s life during one of the hardest chapters she had ever faced and reminded her that she wasn’t alone. Their kindness and support helped her heal from the bullying and turmoil she endured at Lorena ISD.
Seeing her story shared today, not for what she went through, but for how far she has come, means more than words can say. This is why we keep fighting for kids. Their pain matters, their healing matters, and their story does not end with what was done to them. ❤️
🎉❤️ CONGRATULATIONS TO EMMA!! 🤗
We know how much you love a Friend Mail Recipient update - and this storybook ending makes our hearts SO happy! 💞
Emma was just 15 in 2021 when she received a batch of peer support from the Be A Friend Project. This courageous Texan was working hard to find her way back to the health, confidence and joy that bullying had taken from her. After enduring years of verbal, cyber, physical and social bullying - starting in middle school - Emma ultimately chose homeschooling, leaving behind her beloved school volleyball team so she could focus on her safety and healing.
In a 2021 thank-you video to the kids who wrote her Friend Mail, Emma shared: “If you ever need anything, always be sure to reach out because things can turn around so quick.”
Today, she has channeled her athleticism, determination and motivational heart into a career as a professional trainer in Texas - helping others become stronger, healthier and more confident.
This month, Emma married her "best friend" and the love of her life, Jaelyn! 💍❤️
From a 15-year-old girl working to find her joy again… to a young woman building a life she LOVES - we couldn't be prouder of you, Emma!! Thank you for showing other kids who are hurting that their story is not finished - to hold on, it will get better!!
CONGRATULATIONS, EMMA - AND JAELYN! Here's to a beautiful new chapter and a whole lot of happiness ahead! 🥂✨
