New River Gorge National Park. One of our favorites! We stayed with Adventures on the Gorge. We went on a rafting trip on the New River and it was amazing! My husband also did a zipline tour with them. We also hiked some easy hikes with the kids and they earned their Junior Ranger badges. Loved it and can't wait to go back!

Amazing hike through the giants at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks - Sequoias, meadows, high sierra views, solitude, and a shuttle - This is a wonderful hike if you want to experience the amazing Giant Sequoias without the crowds. We did the hike one way and took the shuttle back. It is mostly downhill with a few easy short uphills. There are many interconnected trails so you can create your own adventure. I really recommend the Eagle View Overlook at the end. It was stunning. I added a photo with the route we took highlighted. I hope some find this helpful!

We picked the best day to visit Mount Rainier. It’s been cloudy & a bit chilly in the Seattle area. There was only one car in line agead of us getting into the park at the Stevens Canyon entrance.
Yes, the park was crowded (my husband dropped us off & ended up parking a mile+ away) and there is some road construction, but the drive was beautiful. We packed a picnic lunch & was able to sit inside Paradise Lodge & enjoy the view.

National Seashores are also part of the Park system. Sleeping Bear Dunes.

2025 west coast road trip. We had a blast. Flew into Reno NV from Indpls IN. 1st major stop Crater, then over to the Redwoods, zig zag to Yosemite, zip over to Kings and Sequoia. Almost 3000 miles on the rental car. We drove through LA to Oceanside (most southern point of our journey, gotta see the grand baby 🥰). Many scenic routes, national forest, beautiful overlooks, picnic areas, miles of farm land, orchards, canyons…. My heart is full.
