Thanks to the people of Toka village who housed, fed, and cared for Missy and I during our stay in the community. I was honored to be asked on behalf of the village and the Guyana Tourism Board, to travel to Guyana and revive the ancient practice of stone tool production in Toka. It was an amazing experience and I look forward to future adventures in Guyana and to see how the people of Toka have progressed with their stone tool journey.

Sometimes the best creations aren’t about speed—they’re about patience, persistence, and the process itself. Building a full atlatl and dart with only stone flakes, scrapers, and blades took nearly eight hours over two days. Shaping, grinding, chopping, drying, and tuning wasn’t just work—it was an experience. Every step reminded me that life is less about rushing to the finish and more about appreciating the journey.
