I feel a bit down because I think my engagement ring and set is boring and I have regrets
I got engaged last year and the wedding is coming up. I feel like when I went to look for rings I didn’t have a clear sense of what I wanted. I ended up picking an oval diamond. Over the last several months, I’ve worried the ring isn’t “me” enough and I wish I went for something with a more vintage look.
Overall… I know it’s objectively nice but I think it’s a little plain or basic?
My fiancé and I went to get a band with diamonds to match with it. At the last appointment, I REALLY wanted to add pear shaped diamonds on the engagement ring to make it more visually interesting, but then the band didn’t sit nicely with it anymore and it looked weird together. We had already paid for the band and I felt bad adding more cost for my fiancé too. I couldn’t stack the rings together nicely unless I got a new band or a second band.
All in all, I just feel regret about a ring I’m wearing the rest of my life and I don’t want to make my fiancé spend more money. Maybe I just leave it for now and can always upgrade with pear diamonds at an anniversary later on?
