A newly recorded statement raises more questions in the mysterious death of 19-year-old Noah Presgrove.
In Episode 17, retired Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigator Jodi Barth joins Partners in True Crime to examine a recent recorded statement from a woman who says she overheard Jack Newton and two other young men at a pizza restaurant discussing what they allegedly did to Noah.
What could this account mean for the investigation? Jodi breaks down the statement from an investigator’s perspective, including what she believes should be examined, corroborated, and compared against the existing evidence.
Jodi also takes a fresh look at the larger case, walking through evidence, reported circumstances, and unanswered questions that she believes do not fit neatly together. From the events surrounding Noah’s final hours to the condition and location of his body and other details investigators have had to reconcile, Jodi explains which aspects stand out to her and why.
The allegations discussed in this episode have not been established as fact. No criminal charges are implied by discussing the recorded statement. The episode presents the witness’s account and Jodi Barth’s analysis and opinions.
