Founded by experimental musical ensemble Arthur King, Unknown Movie Night is a recurring live scoring event where the selected film is unknown to both audience and band until it begins. Hand-picked film selectors and a rotating cast of artists join Arthur King in making each UMN unique. This event is free to the public, ages 21 and up.

The eveningโs score will be recorded and duplicated on-site to cassette, and attendees will be able to take home a free copy at the end of the show. dublab's own Qurโan Shaheed will bookend the performance with DJ sets.

Danny O'Malley is an Emmy, Grammy, and James Beard-nominated film producer. For nearly a decade, Danny O'Malley has been a driving creative force behind Netflixโs longest running series, Chef's Table, where he serves as an executive producer and director. This year he received an Emmy-nomination in the category for Outstanding Documentary Series.
Beyond Chefโs Table, Dannyโs mission is to change the way science is seen on the big screen. In 2023, O'Malley released his first feature, Canary, which tells the story of the โreal-life Indiana Jones,โ Lonnie Thompson โ a pioneering climate scientist who defied convention by excavating ice from the tops of the worldโs tallest mountains. The film, which was shot on a glacier at an elevation of 18,000ft, played on over 150 screens across the world including two encore screenings at the climate conference COP 28. In 2024, the film took home the Jackson Wild Media Award for Best Feature.
Now, O'Malley is channeling his signature character driven storytelling into unexpected projects ranging from independent films to scripted series to the investigative comedy podcast Jacob Reed and Me which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2025.
