The tenth album on our label has been released and it’s a beauty from Tristan François de Liège ! •A Moment in Passing• is 18 solo piano compositions performed by Taylor Mackall Karolina Kalo and Max Naseck .

From Tristan:

This is an album of solo piano compositions I wrote over the last three years or so, and were recorded and realized with the help of pianist friends Taylor Mackall, Karolina Kalo, and Max Naseck, who each put a unique and beautiful touch of their own on the compositions.

These were written in a variety of different places and moods, some joyful and others difficult, but what ultimately ties them all is they are all expressive of the transience of things and the feeling that all things must come to an end.

Today we are happy to release Confluence, an album of wild new sounds from Los Angeles composer-improvisers François de Liège and David Moses.

The album was created in an intuitive manner, through channeling sounds and textures and listening for where they may lead. A share of the pieces emerged from a long-form improvisation on David’s felted spinet piano and his use of the unique Monome Norns as a live sample processor - a modern version for live resampling on tape machines.

The pieces together aim to invite the listener into that experience of channeling that David and Tristan had in the making of these works, and to experience the music as a force of healing and solace by bringing us to the present.

We’ve released a new EP from and .clees titled Mémoires for Solo Vibraphone. It’s a beautiful suite of 3 pieces written by Tristan and performed by Arthur, in memory of Jambal bassist Maxime Peter Igisch, who tragically passed in a car crash weeks before the release of the bands debut album. Says Tristan of the music and his friend Maxime: “These pieces…are an attempt to capture the mystery and newness of our musical explorations during our collaboration and also the feelings of nostalgia and distance I feel when recalling them. I hope to carry Maxime’s adventurous and open spirit with me for my whole life and these compositions are my thank you to him for this beautiful gift.”
