The record was produced entirely by ALIA at home, where she also performed the theremin, kacapi, and synthesis, alongside field recordings from a multitude of locations. 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒎 is a unique meeting point of geographies, influences, creative practices, and mentors.

‘Crescent Sun’ is a darker track, led with shadowy programmed bass synthesis and arpeggiated zither plucks to accompany the Levantine imagery of its title. LA theremin player and composer ALIA announces her debut album 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒎, out June 26th via . An album marrying haunting, shimmering beauty with organic and natural textures.

The record was produced entirely by ALIA at home, where she also performed the theremin, kacapi, and synthesis, alongside field recordings from a multitude of locations. Opening single ‘Endless Love’ starts close and intimate, with soft voice, zither and electronic textures creating something warm and otherworldly.

“I wanted to showcase the hauntingly beautiful voice of the theremin as well as the intimate, melancholic sound of the kacapi, a Javanese zither,” writes ALIA. “I set them to a backdrop of lush pads I created on my Arturia Microfreak and Korg Minilogue along with lots of shimmering reverb to create ethereal, otherworldly soundscapes that are, at times, hypnotic.”

“微塵な音”を集めていき、空間の中で響かせながら、それらのあいだに生じるわずかな動きを見つめていくと、やがて全体のバランスが形づくられていきます。
そういった関係性と、そこで生じる緊張のなかで「沈黙」と「音」が、どのような共鳴を起こすのかを探りました。
アルバムは、録音されたピアノの最小限の和音から始まり、断片的な声やパーカッション、Rhodesやシンセサイザー、そしてジャズやソウルの残響を再構築しながら展開していきます。
音は空気中に漂う粒のように存在し、それぞれがゆるやかに響き合いながら構成をつくっていきます。
その配置によって生まれる「間」や「沈黙」が、音と同じくらいの存在感をもって現れてくれることを願っています。

New single ‘Interstice’ from Japanese producer Fumitake Tamura is out now ahead of the upcoming album 𝑴𝒊𝒋𝒊𝒏.

‘Interstice focuses on the “points” of piano chords I recorded in the past, and the “gaps” that emerge between them. I wanted to emphasize the contrast between sound and silence.’ - Fumitake Tamura

The title “Mijin” comes from a Japanese word meaning "very fine particles". The album gathers particle-like sounds and allows them to resonate in space.

𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔 by recording artist & producer is out today via Leaving Records. A collection of music made for film, documentaries and shorts, including "After The Flags" on seminal Javanese contemporary artist and activist Arahmaiani, "Beyond Dualism" on New York artist Futura 2000, and "Anatomy of An Artist" on Yogyakarta-based filmmaker Natasha Tontey.

Recorded between New York and G Zui Studios in Indonesia, and working directly from vision provided by the directors, each movement gleams in the emotional landscapes of its original scene.

As timing would have it, much of this collection came to pass during a tumultuous period in the producer's life; one of significant loss and redirection following the passing of some close friends in a short window, including a treasured recent collaborator, the late, great Ariel Kalma.

Kaazi’s music draws on voice, synthesis, stringed instruments, metallophones and recordings from the field, frequently exploring both rhythm and resonate texture, as a conduit for connection.
