A networking organization of military veterans working in the media and entertainment industries.
By vets and for vets, VME offers a means for vets to collaborate, pool resources, and support one another in a variety of ways. VME is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and networking organization that unites current and former members of the military working in the film and television industry.
Official group meetings are held once a month at the Hollywood American Legion Post 43. Various special events and social gatherings are also hosted by VME with the help of, and for, its members.
Each VME meeting allows its members to:
- Meet other vets in the industry.
- Pitch projects / hear about other vets' projects
- Hear guest speakers (established agents, managers, producer, actors, advisors, etc)
- Q&A with guest speakers
- Drink, network and socialize with other VME members following the meeting.

How Our Meetings Are Structured:
6:45 Member Arrival
7:00 Introduction to VME/ Member recognition - The meeting's MC will briefly explain VME to new members, then recognize a few existing VME members and their recent achievements in the industry.
7:15 Member Introduction - Because this is a place to meet other vets in the industry, each person in attendance will state aloud their name and current occupation (i.e. "I'm John Doe and I'm an actor and aspiring writer.")
7:30 Pitch Fest - Working on a project and looking for help? Have an idea and looking to collaborate? This is the time to sound off. Each meeting 4-7 pre-identified members will be invited to 'pitch' the group on a project/topic of their choosing. Interested members should submit a request via email to [email protected] at least 24hr prior to the meeting.
8:00 Guest Speaker - Each VME meeting will feature a different professional from the film and television industry. Some of the speakers will be announced in advance on the VME website while others will only be "member only invites" (i.e. for our high-profile guests).
8:30 Q&A - Allows members to ask questions of and directly engage the guest speaker.
9:00 Drinks & Networking - Not only does American Legion Hollywood Post 43 provide us large room for meetings, it also houses a beautiful and fully stocked bar in the basement. Have a beer, shoot some pool, enjoy the occasional live band, and most importantly, interact with other members of VME. War stories encouraged.
