MY WIFE'S DAD DESTROYED HER HOME LIBRARY — I DIDN'T LET IT SLIDE My father-in-law was always a simple handyman, never one to care about his daughter's feelings. So, it wasn't a big surprise when he got angry and fussy after my wife announced that she was going part-time at work to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. What I didn't expect was to come home to her crying on the living room floor next to her destroyed home library. Even my heart sank. All her cherished and annotated books were torn apart, scattered across the floor. She was picking up the pieces, cradling them like a child, sobbing uncontrollably. I rushed over to her, asking what had happened. "It was him. My dad said I'm just looking for excuses not to work and that all my little books would never amount to anything. It's stupid, I'm an adult now, his opinion shouldn't matter, but…" She broke down again, and it took me until the evening to comfort her, promising we'd replace the books. As she finally fell asleep, I stayed awake, plotting my revenge. This was not okay, and my entitled father-in-law needed to learn that he can't break into my house and make my wife cry just because she was brave enough to chase her dreams.
