Pregnancy is not the time to “power through.” Some chores look simple, but they quietly stress your body and can trigger complications.
Here are 5 common chores you must reduce or avoid:
1. Heavy Lifting (buckets, gas cylinders, large water containers)
This puts too much pressure on your abdomen and back. It increases the risk of muscle strain, back injury, and even preterm contractions.
2. Standing for Too Long (cooking, cleaning, ironing)
Standing for long periods reduces blood flow to the uterus and can cause swelling, varicose veins, and back pain.
3. Frequent Bending or Picking Things From the Floor
Because of pregnancy hormones like relaxing, bending repeatedly can cause dizziness, low blood pressure episodes, and ligament strain.
