Today officially begins our 42-day countdown to the Kickstarter launch of Young Grandmaster Choi 3 — a campaign that will also celebrate 10 YEARS of Shero Comics putting Black women and girls at the center of our stories! 🎉

And I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the countdown.

This morning, I received an email from Girl Dad Derrick Plummer, who recently purchased our very last Young Grandmaster Choi collector’s doll for his daughter’s 9th birthday, along with Chapters 1 & 2 and the coloring book.

He shared:

“I gave my daughter the book and doll last week for her 9th birthday, and she lost her mind! She couldn’t put the book down. When one of her friends came over, the look on her face when she saw the doll nearly brought tears to my wife’s and my eyes. In the story and the doll, my daughter and her friend saw themselves represented. Thank you!”

This is exactly why we launched 100 Girl Dads for Shero — to rally dads raising Black girls around stories that let their daughters see themselves as the heroes. 🦸🏾‍♀️❤️

And THIS is exactly why we publish these books.

🎙️✨ Now THIS is what we call Shero Behavior!

Our SheroCon 2026 interviews conclude with award-winning voice actor Melique Berger, who joined us in the Shero Alley to talk about her incredible career voicing some of animation’s most memorable characters, and why mentoring the next generation of voice actors is so important to her. 💜

What Melique says in this interview gets right to the heart of why SheroCon exists.

As we grow in our careers, we have a responsibility to reach back, share what we’ve learned, and help make the path a little easier for the people coming behind us. That’s what we mean when we talk about “Shero Behavior.”

And Melique is Shero Behavior personified. 🦸🏽‍♀️✨

She’s built an incredible career, but she’s also making sure the next generation has access to her knowledge, encouragement, and mentorship.

We rise. We reach back. We bring another Shero with us. 💜

One of our favorite Shero Supporters, Robyn Lattaker-Johnson, stopped by SheroCon 2026 and left us with some encouraging words! 💜

Robyn has had quite the journey in entertainment—from executive roles at BET and SYFY to becoming an agent, and now spreading her wings into the world of stand-up comedy. 🎤✨ And we LOVE seeing women give themselves the freedom to pivot, explore new talents, and write entirely new chapters for themselves.

But something Robyn said during her interview really hit home. She pointed out that many of the women in our Shero Alley didn’t necessarily grow up reading comics because they simply didn’t see themselves represented.

And THAT is exactly why we started SheroCon seven years ago. 🥹

We want young women and girls to know they belong in these geek spaces. We want them to see characters who look like them, stories that reflect them, and—most importantly—meet the real-life women who are creating that representation today.

Because sometimes seeing a Shero doing it is all you need to realize that you can do it too. 💜🦸🏾‍♀️

Thank you, Robyn, for continuing to support Shero, cheering on our creators, and reminding us why this work matters.

🤓💜 We’re continuing our SheroCon 2026 interviews, and this next group is proof that it’s NEVER too early to find your geeky tribe!

The Geek Girls Society returned to the Shero Alley for the second time after first joining us at SheroCon x LA Comic Con in 2023. 🎮📚✨

In this interview, Kate Moore, who runs the Geek Girls Society, explains how the group is kind of like the Girl Scouts for geeky girls—a place where girls with shared interests in fandoms, comics, gaming, anime, cosplay, and all things geekdom can come together and find their people.

And I LOVE that. 🥹

We’re starting them young in their nerdom! 😂🤓 But even more importantly, these girls are finding their tribe outside of the classroom and building friendships around the things they genuinely love.

How cool is that?!
