I came up with the general concept for Everly Heights in the middle of the 2020 pandemic. After a few years trying to get a movie or TV pilot made, I decided to go back to my roots as an audio drama producer to make an anthology series instead.

Since we’re the the midst of our big Infinite Tina trilogy, I figured I’d check the numbers to see how the show is doing. Before Season 2, we had around 15,000 listens across platforms (RSS, Apple Podcast, YouTube, etc.). Ten episodes into the new season, we just hit 50,000 FREAKING DOWNLOADS!

I couldn’t be more pleased with how the show has come out. This season, we’re working through adapting the scripts I wrote in 2020-2021 in addition to some new stories. These are awesome stories with awesome actors. The cream of the crop on all fronts. That being said, I’ve been writing stories in the Everly Heights universe for five years and I think I’ll be wrapping it up this fall on the one-year anniversary of the podcast launching. I hope you’ll join me for the end. We’re going to blow the doors off on the way out.

I've removed the last of my custom-trained image models off my hard drive. While training custom models on my own artwork was an artistic process that I felt supported the themes of my Everly Heights project (see blog post below), the perception cost was far too high. People thought I was having AI write the stories, or read the stories. Everly Heights Tales is a human-led project, and this season I'm making album art and other assets for the podcast the same way I've been making them for 20-ish years as a writer/producer.
