Last week was a whirlwind of epic moments with some of the finest friends and wingsuit pilots in the world. If you asked me even a few years ago if I ever saw myself attending I would have laughed at you. I don’t identify as a wingsuit BASE guy but in the last few years and a few hundred jumps in the squirrel suit, it’s a discipline I’ve come to enjoy. WWL is a collection of some of the most talented pilots in the world testing their skills in speed and target accuracy in a competition environment. Two things I never spent much time training or perfecting. Over the last 12 days jumping at Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie China I learned a lot about both but a bit more in 🎯 😉. I placed 16th (last) in speed which was tricky in the Aura5 with a mostly race suit filled field. However in the target hitting competition I somehow managed a 2nd place podium finish which was very rewarding! The other pilots are incredible and I feel the targets comes down to quite a bit of luck when you consider it’s the difference of only a few centimeters between a podium and not. That precision while flying at over 100mph down a mountain headfirst... It’s a pretty impressive feat that we have the technology and ability to even hit the paper let alone aim for a bullseye. Anyways, this trip to China was an absolute blast and I won’t forget these moments anytime soon. I can’t wait to return one day and appreciate the stellar work and organization from all the team especially James Boole | Wingsuit Pilot and Frank. Thank you all 🙏
