AFL 2026 RECRUITMENT UPDATE

The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) wishes to inform the general public that the vetting of qualified applicants in its ongoing 2026 recruitment exercise commenced on July 5, 2026 across Liberia. This exercise is expected to end on August 15, 2026.

Qualified applicants are encouraged to be patient as AFL vetting teams will surely place calls to they and their references.
However, more than five hundred (500) fake West African Examination Council and other documents have been discovered.

Applicants involved in this fraudulent act are automatically disqualified without notification.

Call for Applications: Youth Field Monitoring Interns

The Ministry of Education invites qualified young Liberians between the ages of 18 and 35 to apply as Field Monitoring Interns under the Public School Monitoring Project.

Selected interns will support school monitoring, geo-mapping, school quality assessments, Back-to-My-Classroom activities, and adult literacy monitoring using approved digital tools. Their work will help the Ministry collect reliable school-level information, strengthen accountability, and respond more effectively to challenges affecting education service delivery.

Interested applicants should review the attached advertisement carefully for the eligibility requirements, application documents, and submission instructions.

Application deadline: August 30, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. GMT.

Twenty-four Young Liberians Receive Foreign Scholarship Awards

Congratulations to the latest recipients of our Mineral Development Agreement (MDA) Advanced Academic Scholarship Program.

Today, twenty-four (24) young Liberians received foreign scholarship awards to pursue master’s degrees in geosciences-related disciplines, including engineering, technology, and civil surveying.

Since its launch in 2012, the ArcelorMittal Liberia Advanced Academic Scholarship Program has awarded scholarships to 99 Liberians, enabling students to pursue specialized studies in fields such as mining, engineering, transportation engineering, computer science, and other STEM disciplines.

Through this investment in human capital development, AML continues to support the growth of Liberia’s next generation of professionals and leaders who will contribute to the nation’s sustainable development.

We congratulate the awardees and wish them success as they embark on this important academic journey.

President Boakai Orders Dismissals, Suspensions, and Further Investigations
in Ongoing Narcotics Cases

Thursday, July 30, 2026

Executive Mansion, Monrovia –: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has ordered the
immediate dismissal, suspension, and investigation of several officials of government and law enforcement personnel following his review of the latest status report on ongoing investigations into major narcotics trafficking cases.

The actions form part of the Government’s continued efforts to uphold accountability,
strengthen the rule of law, and ensure that public officials entrusted with serving the
Liberian people conduct themselves with integrity and in full compliance with the law

Following a review of the findings submitted by the relevant authorities, President Boakai
has, with immediate effect, dismissed Mr. Mark Egon Kuiah, Deputy Director for
Operations at the Roberts International Airport (RIA), Mr. Johnny Bolar Dean,
Commissioner of Police for Criminal Investigation, Intelligence and INTERPOL, and Mr. Patrick Doe, Deputy Director for Administration at the National Security Agency (NSA), from their respective positions.

The President has further recalled Mr. Patrick Komasu (702), who had been seconded to
the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), from that assignment, suspended without
pay, and directed that he be placed under investigation.

Additionally, President Boakai has ordered the immediate dismissal of all government
employees and law enforcement officers indicted in connection with the seizure of 198
plates of processed co***ne at the Roberts International Airport and the confiscation of
3,971 plates of co***ne from the premises of two foreign nationals.

Those dismissed are:

• Mohammed O. Gbowrah, Director of Security, Roberts International Airport;

• Moses Jallah, Deputy Commander, Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, Roberts
International Airport.

The President has also ordered the dismissal of two officers of the Liberia National Police
who are said to have used official government vehicles to facilitate the transportation of
a narcotics consignment from Vincent Town along the Bomi Highway to the vicinity of
Mega Mart in Thinker Village, Paynesville.
They are:

• Anthony T. Blaye;
• Wadell W. Kwarbo

President Boakai has also directed the immediate dismissal of the following individuals and ordered that they be forwarded to the Ministry of Justice for prosecution in accordance with the law:
• Jammel V. Jallah, Agent, National Security Agency;
• Christian L. Nyantee, Agent, National Security Agency;
• Caycee Nelson, Procurement Director, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social
Protection; and
• Albenigo Janior, Agent, National Security Agency.

President Boakai said these actions demonstrate his Administration's resolve to ensure that no public official or government employee who engages in criminal conduct remains in public service.

He stressed that the Government will continue to enforce the law without fear or favor and will hold accountable anyone found to have participated in narcotics trafficking or
related criminal activities.

The President has further directed all relevant security and law enforcement institutions
to intensify their investigations and ensure that every individual connected to these cases is brought before the courts in accordance with due process of law.

The Executive Mansion assures the Liberian people that the Government will continue to
take all lawful and necessary measures to combat narcotics trafficking, dismantle criminal networks, strengthen national security, and safeguard the integrity and international reputation of the Republic of Liberia.

The vaccine is presently being rolled out by the Ministry of Health through the National AIDS and STI Control Program (NACP), in commemoration of the World Hepatitis B Day celebration.

Rehab, Paynesville, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., on Thursday honored renowned Ghanaian Pan-African travel content creator Mr. Berthold Kobina Ackon (Wodemaya) and Chief Executive Officer of The Gathering Group, Mr. Jenkins S. Nyuma, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to promoting Liberia during the country’s 179th Independence Day celebrations.

The recognition took place during a breakfast meeting at the President’s Rehab Residence, attended by Director General of the Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA), Hon. Princess Eva Cooper; Deputy Director General for Marketing and Promotions, Mr. Jani Jallah Kollie; Mr. Berthold Kobina Ackon, popularly known as Wodemaya; and Mr. Jenkins S. Nyuma.

The meeting celebrated the contributions of Berthold Kobina Ackon (Wodemaya) and Jenkins Nyuma to promoting Liberia during the country’s 179th Independence Day celebrations and explored opportunities to expand the nation’s tourism, cultural, and investment profile through strategic partnerships and digital storytelling.

President Boakai expressed appreciation to Wodemaya for using his widely followed digital platforms to showcase Liberia’s tourism, culture, history, and hospitality to millions of viewers across Africa and the world. In recognition of his efforts and his travels across Liberia highlighting the country’s unique attractions and untold stories, the President presented Wode Maya with a Special Presidential Pin as a symbol of national appreciation.

Wodemaya thanked President Boakai for the recognition and described Liberia as a country blessed with extraordinary history, breathtaking natural attractions, and warm, welcoming people. He said his visit provided an opportunity to present a different narrative about Liberia by showcasing its beauty, resilience, and investment opportunities to a global audience.
