Let's make fried green tomatoes... but completely plant-based.
This recipe comes together in under 15 minutes. I made a sandwich with my batch but you can enjoy on its own or over a salad.
Here's the recipe:
Green Tomatoes
Grape-seed Oil
WET BATTER
Plant Based Milk
Ground Flax/Chia
Mustard
Black Pepper
Thyme
DRY MIX
Cornmeal
Flour
Cayenne
Onion/Garlic Powder
Salt
*I also used the green goddess & umami seasonings from trader joe's, but you can sub whatever spices & herbs you like :)
MISO MAYO
Vegan Mayo (I made mine from scratch)
ACV
Miso
Ketchup
Mustard
Sweetener of choice (I use coconut sugar)
Garlic
Black Pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
Slice thick cuts of green tomato, sprinkle generously with salt and let sit for a few minutes for the water to come to the surface.
Pat dry with paper towel and dip into your wet batter and then your dry mix.
Fry until crispy.
I put mine into a sandwich with miso mayo, sprouts and avocado.
