The Content Label The Content Label is a Los Angeles project-based record label and collective.

The Content (L)abel is a tastemaking instrumental hip-hop and electronic music imprint dedicated to furthering the sample-based music dialogue. Curated by critically acclaimed recording artist Dday One, the LA-based boutique label’s exclusive catalog is exquisite and experiential. The Content (L)abel maintains a “quality over quantity” ethic through keeping a lean roster, and releasing only six to

eight project-based releases a year. The niche imprint’s bold project-based platform liberates it from the old-fashioned label standard of issuing all, or a defined body of work, from an artist. This allows the Content (L)abel to be more selective and issue only those artistic statements it deems fully in line with the creative continuum it supports.

Recovered from mini discs, zip drives, and cassettes, these tracks capture the raw essence of Dday One’s sound: layered, textural, and deeply intentional. Built entirely on hardware samplers, each piece reflects a process rooted in vinyl excavation, silence as structure, and the physicality of beatmaking.

This sonic journey through thirteen psyche-out tracks seamlessly fuses classic production methods with a contemporary edge. Drawing inspiration from Italian Giallo Soundtracks, Library records, Dark Wave, Progressive Rock, and the Memphis Rap-Tape Culture, ‘Ether Ghost’ is a pitch-shifted exploration of gritty soundscapes.

Inspired by the creativity and beats of artists like DJ Krush, Fiji's sound is an evocative blend of deft rhythm programming and moody soundscapes that reflect the natural environment surrounding him. All six tracks on "Daily Questions" were recorded in his native city of Orenburg, with collaborations from musicians (Saint Petersburg) and Yana Kulich with co-author Maria Kalinina (Moscow).

The album is a journey into Fiji's personal life, as he explores the joys and anxieties of our time, juxtaposing his domestic world with the chaotic events happening around us. "Daily Questions" is a powerful and introspective project that showcases Fiji's unique and exciting sound, cementing his place in the ever-evolving world of instrumental hip hop.

"Daily Questions," is his second release on the boutique L.A based record imprint, The Content Label, founded by producer Dday One who is also the executive producer of the project.

Hailing from Budapest, Hungary, an eastern European region with an extraordinary musical history, Beatmaker Nándor Kürtössy examines abstract musical forms alongside themes found in contemporary life. Recently, sparked by the global pandemic, Nándor's musical output has become fashioned by his experience of isolation due to extreme lockdown and feelings surrounding the existential angst which seems to pervade modern life. These themes are explored sonically and resonantly through his Kovacs The Hun project and new album for The Content Label, Self Isolation. The resulting eleven tracks are expressive and detained, springing from Nándor's love of jazz and beats before traversing into moodier territories.
