Almost 6 years ago, I started Culture Jam Co, a Hollywood-based independent label and full-service recording studio dedicated to providing resources to Black creatives in LA.

Since then, we’ve given hundreds of hours in free studio time, production, engineering, mixing, mastering, PR, and management services to Black artists across the city and the country. I’ve put over 6-figures of my own money into this mission over the past 5+ years and I’m so blessed that we have been able to keep things going!

Culture Jam Co has expanded and we now occupy the entire floor of our building. We’re asking for your help to keep this momentum going. Every dollar we raise goes straight back into this mission: building a space where creativity, care, and liberation intersect.

When we’re not at the studio, we’re advocating for Black liberation, abolition, and fair pay in the music industry. We also have many, many resources available on our site to help others and allow you to support the causes we believe in.

Culture Jam Co was started in 2019, with a mission to provide resources to Black Independent creatives and fight against white supremacy and systemic racism within the music industry. In addition, we are organizing with activists to provide mutual aid to the unhoused within our community.

This month we will be highlighting Black creatives who are trailblazing their own path and inspiring others with their art and their lives, making Black history every day.

We pride ourselves on uplifting Black voices, not just during Black History Month, but every day.

This year for Black History Month, Culture Jam Co is going to be highlighting Black creatives that inspire us with their art and their lives, making Black history every day. We’re also going to be regularly updating our Spotify playlist, featuring Black artists and producers that we feel deserve a spotlight. And most importantly we will continue to use our resources to to support Los Angeles Black independent creatives.

Today we honor the legacy and impact of Dr Martin Luther King Jr on what would have been his 95th birthday. This holiday has been co-opted and whitewashed by politicians, conservatives, liberals, and pacifist organizations and entities that serve only to benefit the white supremacist systems within this country and abroad that Dr king SPECIFICALLY fought against!

So if you see an MLK parade or march today with police or military escorts, just know that those same police were brutally beating and killing civil rights protestors 60 short years ago.

When you see politicians talking about “non violence” and selectively quoting and cherry picking the parts of MLK they like to benefit their own agendas, know that these same politicians would have sold out Dr King as a “Marxist”, or “Communist”, and tried to destroy him and his pursuits.

But we know he was unabashedly pro Black liberation, pro reparations and wanted to dismantle the systems of oppression that hold Black people back from prosperity and equality.

So today, we at Culture Jam Co implore you to do your own research and see what Dr Martin Luther King Jr really said and believed.

Studio D

This newly completed, 210 sq ft, air-conditioned/heated recording studio features, wood flooring, newly-painted walls with 10’ ceilings, solid core doors, and a large 5’x 10’ vocal booth.

There are only 4 units that share the whole building and the building features 24/7 surveillance, private bathroom access, shared kitchen, shared outdoor area, smoking friendly, high-speed WiFi and utilities included and there is a parking lot down the street as well as street parking.

New Year’s Special Price: $1,400 per month for a one-year contract, or $1,500 for a month-to-month contract. We just need the first and last month to get started, no credit checks, and a $250 refundable setup.
