October is the rice harvest season in Japan. We cut and dry them for about 2 weeks. You can see a bunch of them all over the countryside in Japan. This is the sign of the end of fall and the begging of Winter.

Kakigori is a Japanese-style shaved ice flavored with syrup and a sweetener. The special things about Kakigori are their flavors. For example, Ujikintoki is flavored with green tea syrup, sweet bean paste, mochi, and green tea ice cream.

Fireworks festivals in Japan are one of the Japanese summer cultures. Those fireworks will be launched one by one with their titles and their sizes. These festivals are like art shows at night.

Obon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one's ancestors. This Buddhist–Confucian custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places. Obon is usually in August, but in some local areas, they do in July.

Mt Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan, standing 3,776 m (12,389 ft). This is a charming mountain but should not be taken lightly. The climbing season for Mt. Fuji is from early July to early September. In other periods, climbing Mt. Fuji is prohibited.

Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival, celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair respectively). According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year.

There is a Japanese garden named "Shofu-en" in the Denver Botanic Gardens. Shofu-en translates to ‘Garden of Pine and Wind.’ This garden was inspired by Colorado’s Rocky Mountains and it features 130 character pines transplanted from the foothills. It was built in 1979.
