🥸Social media myths you have been tricked by

❌Myth: Hashtags are key to helping you target your audience.
✅Truth: Not really. A lot of people think that hashtags are a key component in your marketing but the truth is most hashtags don’t have much impact on who sees your content. The key is in the content itself.

❌Myth: Social media is for young audiences.
✅Truth: This is false. Boomers still use google so a great place to post is Youtube and boomers also hold a majority of the wealth in our nation. Youtube shows up in Google’s search engine so the more videos with helpful descriptions you create, the more your channel to show up.

❌Myth: Likes and follows are the most important metric in social media growth.
✅Truth: Likes and followers are considered vanity stats. While it can be useful in showing social proof, you want to actually focus your energy on shares and saves. This is why we always tell people to create value in your videos because it's one of the only things worth saving and sharing.

❌Myth: I just need one video to go viral and my business will be set.
✅Truth: We preach consistency and if you look at your favorite social media influencers, you will see that they have posts in the hundreds or thousands, meaning they are posting everyday. Great content is important but consistency is more realistic for your growth. If you’re consistent, you will eventually create better content.

❌Myth: You shouldn’t follow Brian for more helpful content.
✅Truth: Definitely follow and save for more game changing content.

✅Repurposing content can seem repetitive but that's ok. You can talk about the same content just make a new video with a different perspective on the same topic. Don't repost the same video. Create a new video with a variation to it.

✅Everyday people's problems. Creating content should not always be about the work you do. Sometimes sharing lessons and stories of situations you’ve dealt with allows you to connect with a larger audience. So if you happen to have a lambo and you talk about the time your car got scratched, this is not the best way to connect with a large audience. If your audience is of higher net worth, you may want to talk about it. Create content that is widely relatable.

✅Learn from your competitors! Gather inspiration from others and make use of their content with your own spin on it. If you just copy content you lower your chances of creating something special that helps you go viral.

✅Film content in batches! Content needs to be created in batches because you still have to conduct your business. When creating new content, this is something you do through your phone. Content ideas will come from what you do in your life. The smallest stories from your main story line of your life are some of the best pieces of content that most people can connect with. I am constantly on my phone adding to my list of content.

✅Create content about your hobbies and interests. Lessons allow you to connect with largely relatable topics that you dont like. But your hobbies and interests allow viewers to connect with you. This also makes creating content more fun because lets be real, its fun to talk about the things you like.
