Planning on working out?

Here are 7 fitness mistakes that you should avoid:

1. No fitness plan
A plan will help keep track of your progress, challenge yourself and help you develop as well.

2. Doing too much exercise too soon
Remember that your body needs time to rest and recover between workouts. It needs to heal, and your muscles need to repair. So, don't forget to do your warm-up and cool-down exercises correctly.

3. Not enough variety in your exercises
It's okay to keep challenging your mind and body so you can continue to achieve results.

4. Not pushing yourself enough
If you don’t get that heart rate up you simply won’t burn calories/fat or lose weight/tone those problem areas. Remember that hard work brings results.

5. Not working out correctly
It’s so important to get your technique right when you're exercising so you can get the results that you want.

6. You refuel too much
Rehydrate with water instead and snack on healthy options like fruit and nuts. Though it's tempting to snack on energy drinks, and bars, a healthy balanced diet will help you hit your fitness goals and improve the quality of your workouts.

7. Over emphasis on Cardio exercises
Keep in mind that you are in charge of how much weight you lift. Weight training has health and fitness benefits too. So, don't worry to much about bulking up.

Here's a picture of my student practicing the 3 point stretch.

What is the 3-point stretch?

It's one of the top technical skills that microblading artists should have.
It's one of the most important factors in getting good strokes and in making good stretches.

So how does this work?

First, the stretching hand should be placed strategically along the client's forehead to pin the skin down. Then, the artist will spread it apart in small stretches. This step forms 2 out of 3 points. While doing this, the pinky of the working hand must stretch in an opposite direction to complete the 3-point stretch.

Remember, that when the skin is flat, the stroke will be clean since the surface doesn't have wrinkles and bounce anymore.

Are you a new lash artist?

Here are common mistakes that lash artists make and how to avoid them to help you take your professional service to the next level:

Mistake #1: Rushing appointments
Always give at least 3 hours for each of your clients. When you don't allow enough time, you run the risk of not giving quality service to your clients. Take your time to ensure that your client gets the result they want.

Mistake #2: Ignoring humidity levels
Monitor humidity levels to avoid the risk of your lash extension glue drying too quickly, lash adhesive drying too slowly, poor extension retention, and giving longer servicing hours.

Mistake #3: Not properly applying lash extension gel patches and stickers
Correctly placing gel patches is the foundation of a successful lash extension service. So, be sure to practice this process.

Mistake #4: Not providing aftercare instructions
Always give your clients aftercare instructions. Spend as much time as you need in explaining the importance of aftercare. The better you educate your clients, the longer their lashes will be, the happier they become.

Mistake #5: Not customizing lash sets
Lash extensions depend on your client's eye shape and face structure. As a lash artist, it's your responsibility to determine which extension will suit your audience well.

Becoming a lash artist is more than a job. It's a career. By avoiding these common mistakes, you'll be able to provide excellent services to your clients.

If you are thinking about getting lash extensions like her but are hesitant because you have questions in mind or are scared. Don't worry! I got you covered.

In today's post, I'll be discussing myths and truths about lash extensions.

MYTH 1: Eyelash extensions are uncomfortable and irritating
Truth: This is only true if you do not go to a professional. If lashes are applied correctly, you will not experience any discomfort during the process.

MYTH 2: Eyelash extensions can destroy your natural lashes
Truth: If your lash artist uses quality and verified materials, there will be no damage to your natural lashes. Another tip is: Don't try to remove lash extensions yourself. This will damage your natural lashes.

MYTH 3: All lash extensions are the same and look the same
Truth: The lash extensions to be used will depend on your need and desired style. You can also ask your lash artist what will be the most suitable lash for you depending on your natural lash type, eye shape, and face. This means that not all lash extensions will look the same for everyone.

MYTH 4: Mascara can be used on lash extensions
Truth: Mascara sticks lash extensions together. This will make it hard to clean off. So, do not use mascara if you have lash extensions if you don't want to risk wasting your time and money invested in the craft.

MYTH 5: Eyelash extensions should not be washed
Truth: Lash extensions should be regularly washed. Ideally, twice a day. But, it should be done with care. Use a light foam cleanser and brush to clean them.

Meet . She was a client of mine when I was working in Beverly Hills lashes. Khloe is a very successful model and one of my luxury and premium clients.

Getting and maintaining a luxury clientele isn't an easy job. Here are tips on how you can handle and get premium clients like her in the industry:

1. Provide a peaceful, clean, and comfortable atmosphere for your client
Make sure that you have a room where your client will feel comfortable. You can play relaxing music while the session is ongoing, and you can also provide extra comfort by adding extra pads to your table. Other than this, the room needs to look good and smell good.

2. Use quality products
Don't use cheap lashes and glue. Use products that will make your client's lashes look natural.

3. Provide good customer service
Just like any other business, you need to provide good, quality service. If you have a regular client, try to be flexible as much as possible as long as it doesn't go against your biz practices and contracts. If you have clients who are not satisfied, don't fight with them! Instead, apologize, and offer them something that will make them feel appreciated for their next visit. Treat all your clients nicely and politely.

4. Smile!
Clients don't want a grumpy lash artist, so always smile and look happy when you have clients. 😁

5. Be upfront and honest with your clients
Do not make promises that you can't deliver. Often, clients would want something that is not fit for them. So, it is best, to be honest with them and offer what's best. They would appreciate this more than making them think that you cheated on them.

Graphics design is constantly evolving. But even though that's the case, there are still misconceptions that designers and non-designers believe in, and here are some of them:

1. Graphics design is all about creating logos
Logos are essential, especially in businesses. But, it's not the sole purpose of graphics design. Graphics design is also putting together elements to create an image that communicates a message.

2. Graphics design only uses STILL images
Graphics design is not only limited to images. It also encompasses videos and gifs.

3. You need fancy tools for graphics design
There are lots of FREE design tools online like CANVA, where you can still create professional-looking photos. Of course, professional graphic designers use more advanced software where designers can freely create their art which takes years to perfect.

4. You should be a naturally born creative to be a graphic designer
This is an absolute myth! Like anything, graphics design can be taught and learned.

5. Graphics design is about making things look pretty
Beauty is subjective. Making a design 'pretty' isn't the goal of graphics design. Though it is part of it, being able to convey your message is more important.
