This is Audrey. She is now 50yrs old. She was given to my mom in the hospital the day I was born. (By my dad.)
My dad gave her to me about ten yrs ago. She was in a tiny pot and had three tiny leaves. He said “its a rubber plant” which was a common ‘70’s name for a monstera Deliciosa. I laughed, i thought he was joking. I had her for about three yrs and then moved to a new place with more light. Before then it always stayed a tiny plant with three tiny generic green leaves.. then it began.
I had her in my shop where light came into every window.. Audrey exploded, every two weeks she outgrew her pot and id find her fallen over. I finally got a giant pot and a solid wrought iron obelisk for her to hang onto.. ever since she has not stopped “exploding” i do not fertalize her more than twice a yr. She is a bit “off” as my new place is dark so i got her her first very own grow light. Ill be living in “a jungle of Audrey “ soon.
