المولد النبوي ذكرى المولد النبوي الشريف هو اليوم الذي يستذكر فيه المسلمون مولد رسول الله محمد -صلى الله عليه وسلم-، ويقيمون الاحتفالات الدينية بهذه الذكرى العطرة الجليلة، يأتي ذكرى المولد النبوي الشريف في الثاني عشر من شهر ربيع الأول من كل عام هجري ، وتتفاوت احتفالات المسلمين بهذه الذكرى العطرة من منطقة إلى منطقة أخرى، فبعض المناطق يعتبرون هذا اليوم عيداً رسمياً تقام فيه الاحتفالات التي تعم أرجاء البلاد، وفي بعض المناطق الأخرى يعتبرون هذا اليوم مجرد فرحة عادية وفرصة لاستذكار ميلاد هذا الإنسان العظيم.
من الدول التي تعطل تعطيلاً رسمياً في هذه المناسبة سوريا، والأردن، ومصر، والإمارات، وسلطنة عُمان، وغيرها. تاريخياً يعود أصل الاهتمام بيوم المولد النبوي الشريف إلى رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- نفسه، حيث كان يعظم يوم الإثنين ويصومه ويقول: (هذا يوم ولدت فيه). أما الاحتفالات الرسمية التي تقام في هذا اليوم المبارك فقد اختلف في أصلها بين المؤرخين .
