Currently I’ve been working on a lot of unfamiliar rep such as new jazz standards and Brazilian music since I’ve been living out here, tons of new songs. What are you working on lately? My recent favorite was jazz standard Invitation (Wayne Shorter version).

Definitely Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Liszt, Bach, Beethoven (yeah even, maybe especially, him, Skriabin, Grieg, Ravel, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Ligeti, Crumb, Messiaen, Satie, and many more...

I love so many kinds of music it’s crazy, but they seem to have a common thread - that there is some kind of mystery or magic to that music. From romantic era classics to impressionism, jazz, fil music and eventually psychedelic & progressive styles including soul, prog rock, 60s acid rock, fusion jazz, AOR or adult oriented rock, library music, shoegaze & dream pop including what we now call “indie pop” which usually has this dreamy quality. I consider myself a “crossover” artist or a genreless artist who can move freely through any kind of music. What are your favorite kinds of music?

Mine probably was my most likely neurodivergent mad scientist piano instructor when I was a kid. He would say strange things like being in the room with Satie or something. I called him the Don Quixote of piano 🤣. He made me play melodies with a pencil, sit on the floor while playing, or imagine various scenarios. What’s your wackiest story? 🎹💕🔮
