💔✨ Remembering Matthew Perry: Chandler Bing’s Best Friends Moments
Matthew Perry gave us one of TV’s most iconic characters with Chandler Bing. His quick wit, awkward charm, and unforgettable one-liners made Friends what it was. To celebrate his legacy, here are some of Chandler’s most memorable and hilarious episodes:
📺 Season 1, Episode 7 – “The One With the Blackout”
Chandler finds himself stuck in an ATM vestibule with Victoria’s Secret model Jill Goodacre. Cue nervous smiles, a used piece of gum disaster, and an awkwardly long phone call with Joey. It ends with a kiss on the cheek—and a legendary Friends moment.
📺 Season 2, Episode 13 – “The One After the Superbowl: Part 2”
Julia Roberts, Perry’s then-girlfriend in real life, guest stars as Susie Moss. She tricks Chandler into dating her—only to humiliate him as revenge for a childhood prank. Their chemistry is hilarious, electric, and unforgettable.
📺 Season 3, Episode 8 – “The One With the Giant Poking Device”
Fresh off a breakup with Janice, Chandler sings a hilariously off-key duet of “Endless Love” with Phoebe. A perfect mix of heartbreak and comedy.
📺 Season 3, Episode 11 – “The One Where Chandler Can’t Remember Which Sister”
Chandler drowns his sorrows in vodka Jell-O shots at Joey’s birthday party… and accidentally hooks up with one of Joey’s seven sisters. The problem? He has no clue which one.
📺 Season 4, Episode 3 – “The One With the ’Cuffs”
After a fling with Rachel’s boss, Chandler ends up handcuffed to a chair in her office—pantless. Rachel finds him, and the embarrassment lasts the entire episode. Classic Chandler chaos.
📺 Season 4, Episode 12 – “The One With the Embryos”
The guys vs. girls trivia contest. Stakes: $100… then the apartment. We learned the TV Guide is addressed to “Miss Chanandler Bong” and that no one actually knows Chandler’s job. One of the funniest Friends episodes ever.
💋 Season 5, Episode 2 – “The One With All the Kissing”
When Chandler accidentally kisses Monica goodbye in front of Rachel and Phoebe, he tries to cover it up by kissing them too. His awkward quick-thinking leads Monica to joke, “Probably some European goodbye thing he picked up in London.” To which Phoebe replies, “It felt French.”
📦 Season 5, Episode 16 – “The One With the Cop”
Ross’s infamous “PIVOT!” scene wouldn’t be the same without Chandler’s perfectly timed meltdown: “Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!”
❤️ Season 6, Episode 12 – “The One With the Joke”
Not just sarcasm—Chandler also knew how to be sweet. When Monica worried about being “high maintenance,” he told her: “You’re not easygoing, but you’re passionate… and I like maintaining you.”
💍 Season 6, Episode 25 – “The One With the Proposal”
In one of the most emotional moments of the series, Chandler completes Monica’s teary proposal with, “You make me happier than I ever thought I could be. And if you let me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way.”
📸 Season 7, Episode 5 – “The One With the Engagement Picture”
Chandler’s hopeless attempts at smiling for their engagement photos still make fans laugh today.
🍰 Season 7, Episode 11 – “The One With All the Cheesecakes”
Chandler and Rachel sneak, steal, and even eat cheesecake off the hallway floor—only for Joey to join in with a fork he had in his pocket.
🛁 Season 8, Episode 13 – “The One Where Chandler Takes a Bath”
Despite claiming he hated baths, Chandler discovers the magic of bubbles, candles, and Enya. He even starts sneaking Monica’s bubble baths when she isn’t home.
🏓 Season 9, Episode 23 – “The One in Barbados”
Chandler shocks everyone by stepping in for Monica and defeating Mike (Paul Rudd) in ping pong. His mic-drop line: “I never sucked, I just didn’t want you to know how good I was.”
👶 Season 10, Episode 9 – “The One With the Birth Mother”
In a touching adoption scene, Chandler pleads with Erica (Anna Faris): “I love my wife more than anything in this world. And it kills me that I can’t give her a baby. My wife, she’s already there. She’s a mother… without a baby. Please?”
📺 Season 10, Episode 17 – “The Last One”
When Friends came to an emotional close, Chandler got the very last line. As the group leaves Monica and Chandler’s apartment for the final time, Rachel suggests coffee. With perfect Chandler timing, he replies: “Sure… where?” Perry later revealed he specifically asked to close out the show. And he did.
