💕 If you’re spending the time and money to color your hair, you might as well do everything you can to make it LAST. Red and copper shades are especially quick to fade but these little changes can help with pretty much any haircolor.

🥰 Shampoo with cooler water instead of super hot water
🥰 Wash your hair less often when you can
🥰 Use a color safe shampoo and conditioner
🥰 Always use heat protectant before hot tools
🥰 Try not to use crazy high heat every single day
🥰 Protect your hair from lots of sun when possible

The goal is basically to be a little gentler with your color so you’re not washing and heating it right out of your hair 😭💕

😬⚡️If your waves get frizzy the second you brush them out this is what I do instead. I take a little bit of a serum like the the Matrix Food For Soft serum and rub it all over my hands first then I use my hands to gently separate and smooth the waves out. It gives you that soft brushed out look without making everything puff up and lose definition. Just start with a tiny amount because you can always add more and honestly this makes SUCH a difference!!

💥 If your hair waver keeps leaving those harsh lines in your waves this is probably why. Instead of holding the waver straight across and clamping down immediately I rotate it from horizontal to vertical with the hair already inside before I clamp. That little rotation gives you a much smoother entry point so you don’t get that obvious clamp mark. And one more pro tip: as you work your way down the hair gently lift each wave after you release it instead of immediately pulling everything downward. The hair is still hot and setting into shape so give that wave a second to cool in its fullest position. Such a tiny change but it makes mermaid waves look SO much smoother!!

✨ I swear the little finishing touches make such a difference with waves like this. I love a deeper wave pattern because it gives the hair so much movement without making it look too crunchy or overdone. I used the Ella Bella Ultimate Waver for this and finished the ends with a tiny bit of serum and literally chef’s kiss.

💸 I don’t say this often because I don’t think doing good for people needs a press release every time. But before you question my integrity you might want to take a look at what I actually do for my community. I give back constantly. I put my own money behind people. I speak up for people who are scared to speak up for themselves. I help people privately and most of it never makes it online because that’s not why I do it.

And yes I’m proud of that. I’m building a new studio. I’m opening a new salon. I’m moving into a new apartment. I’m running a business and somehow I still find the time and the resources to show up for other people. I genuinely don’t know many people in my space who give back at the level I do. So if you want to criticize me there is plenty to choose from 😂 but questioning whether I keep my word is probably the worst possible hill to die on. I know exactly who I am and I know what I do when nobody is watching. My integrity is not up for debate.

👀 Girl if your flat iron curls never come out right, you might literally just be moving way too fast 😂 I see people FLY through the hair with a straightener and then wonder why the curl barely forms. Think about how long your hair sits on a curling iron. Your flat iron needs a little time to heat the hair and actually create that shape too. Slow, smooth, consistent movement is what gives you that tighter bouncy curl instead of some sad little bend at the end 😭 and yes I still get way too excited when a straightener curl comes off THAT perfect.

🥹 I don’t think I’ve ever really said this out loud, but Abbey Yung is honestly one of the reasons I even believed I could do this as a career. When I first started doing hair, I was like a lot of hairstylists where I just believed what I had been taught. Salon products were better, affordable stuff was bad, silicones were bad, all of it. Then I found Abbey, and I specifically remember seeing her talk about silicones and realizing wait… why have I never actually looked into this for myself?

That opened my eyes to SO much because she was recommending products that normal people could actually afford, and she was explaining why she liked them instead of just repeating the same s**t everybody else was saying. And I remember thinking, girl, I’m working in these expensive salons and I’m not even spending $100 on shampoo myself, so how am I supposed to tell somebody else they need to do that? 😂

She really showed me that you can tell people the truth, recommend affordable s**t, actually educate them, and still build a career doing this. That had such a huge impact on the kind of creator I wanted to be. So seeing her get her own Pantene bundle is just so fu***ng cool to me because I have literally been using Pantene since I was stealing it out of my mom’s shower 😂 I got to meet Abbey in Vegas last month and never even posted the picture because I looked crazy, but I’m posting it now because I’m just so proud of her. She really is one of the people who showed me what this could look like. 🥹💗

Hairstylists, consider this your warning before ordering delivery from CosmoProf 😭 I placed a $600 hair color order this morning around 6 AM because it was showing a roughly 2 hour delivery window. They use Uber to pick up the order, so I’ve been watching the delivery update change over and over and OVER all morning. Finally I called the actual store, gave them my order number, and they told me they don’t even have the order and have no idea what I’m talking about… meanwhile the Uber delivery screen is literally still sitting there updating. 💀

And the craziest part is the store basically told me I’d have to call customer service and figure it out. Thank GOD I didn’t actually need this color between clients today because imagine placing a $600 professional color order expecting it within a couple hours and then it just disappears into the universe. 😭 So yeah, personally I would NOT trust delivery if you actually need your products that day.

GIRLAH today was a JOURNEY 😂 I was so excited to stock my new salon with Schwarzkopf Professional but getting my first color order together became so frustrating that I was genuinely ready to give up. 😩 And
