✨ First you want to pick the right flexi rods for your hair. They come in so many sizes and textures satin velvet jumbo EVERYTHING. If one didn’t work before it probably wasn’t the right size for your thickness or your amount of hair.

✨ Lightly mist your hair with water. Just lightly damp NOT soaked. If it’s too wet you’re waking up with limp hair, not a blowout bestie.

✨ And PLZZZ add a little product!! A volumizing mousse or lightweight foam styler gives the hair memory so the curls set smoother and bouncier.

✨ Keep a detangling brush in your hand because it will be your best friend. Slightly damp hair can fight you so brush each section right before wrapping. Smooth hair on the rod gives you the prettiest results!!!

✨ I did three chunky sections for this blowout shape but the box comes with four so you can play around. Brush each section straight up before wrapping so you get extra volume at the root. The detangler brush is going to be your bff while you’re wrapping!

✨ Start wrapping from the MIDDLE of the section. Wrap the ends first, tuck them in, then roll the rest. This saves anyone with layers or thin ends and makes everything look smooth instead of frizzy.

✨ Put on a satin bonnet if you’re going to sleep because it keeps the rods in place and protects your hair from friction so your curls set clean.

✨ Make sure everything is dry before taking them down. If even one section is damp the whole curl will fall so DOUBLE check before unraveling.

✨ Brush them through with your fingers FIRST and add a little serum through the mids and ends if they look frizzy. Avoid the roots so you keep volume and use a wide tooth comb to shape everything and finish with a touch of hairspray to lock it in!!!

💟 Quick tips with flexi rods:

**YALL LEMME KNOW IF YOU WANNA SEE THE FULL HEATLESS BLOWOUT TUTORIAL with jump flexi rods!!**

💟 Don’t start with soaking wet hair. Lightly mist with a spray bottle so it’s just a little damp. If it’s too wet the curl will never dry and set by morning and it will fall flat the second you take it out.
💟 Apply a light mousse or foam before wrapping. This gives your hair grip and memory so the curl pattern actually holds instead of slipping out overnight.
💟 Sleep in a satin bonnet or on a satin pillowcase. Cotton steals moisture and roughs up your cuticle which is why some people wake up frizzy even when they did everything right. Satin keeps the curl smooth and frizz free!
💟 Make sure your hair is fully dry before taking them out. If you feel even a tiny bit of dampness that is the reason your curls are dropping.
💟 In the morning separate with a little serum on your fingertips. This stops frizz while you break the curls apart and lets you control the shape.

❇️ Tips for the perfect wand curls: AND REMEMBER: we are wrapping and twisting at the same time NOT just wrapping the hair flat!

1️⃣ Start with a small section. About an inch wide piece works best.
2️⃣ Pinch your section near the top so you have max control over the section. Hold it between your fingers so it stays smooth and tight.
3️⃣ As you wrap twist your wrist slightly. This means the hair turns as it goes around the wand like spiraling candy cane stripes up the barrel. We want ROPE not RIBBON bestie!
4️⃣ Keep the hair smooth to minimize frizz. Twisting it gives you that rope curl look instead of a loose bend.
5️⃣ Hold for a few seconds then release. Catch the curl in your hand for two to three seconds to set it before letting it drop or you could clip them up to make them last even longer!

💟 Lemme help you real quick with how to use dry shampoo PROPERLY 👀 (Especially if you are blonde because this new one for Light tones from Moroccanoil has a lavender purple tone that gets rid of brass bestie!!!! It is not permanent and it washes out when you shampoo but it seriously freshens up your color between wash days!!!)

🎀 If you have never tried dry shampoo it literally soaks up oil, adds volume and lift at the roots and helps you stretch the time between wash days so your hair looks clean without a full shampoo. But the right technique is important:

1️⃣ Start on dry hair and part anywhere you see oil. Hairline. Crown. Behind the ears. Nape.
2️⃣ Hold the can 8” away and do quick taps. No continuous blasting.
3️⃣ Keep it light and build in layers. If you see a white cast you are probably too close or using too much.
4️⃣ Let it sit for 30 to 60 seconds so it can absorb then massage at the roots and brush to blend.
5️⃣ Dark hair tip: Use a tinted brunette or black formula so your roots stay rich and not dusty. (This brand has one for dark tones too!!!!!)
6️⃣ Pro tip. Use it before bed on clean roots so it works overnight and you wake up fresh.

❇️ If you don’t like hairspray and your heatless curls keep falling FLAT you have GOTTTT to try this lightweight volumizing foam from Color Wow!! (It’s called XL Bombshell check her out you can get it literally anywhere at this point i feel like) It gives long lasting volume without any sticky or crunchy feeling so your hair stays soft shiny and bouncy all day. (Which is also perfect if you’re wrapping heatless curls because too much product can get sticky and it just makes me wanna give up ngl)

🎀 Tips for PERFECT blowout air curls:

✨ Do not use it on dry hair. If you’re starting on soaking wet hair, blow dry until it is about 80 percent dry. (If it is soaking wet it will never hold a curl.) If your hair is already dry just lightly mist your hair so it’s just damp.
✨ Add styling foam or volumizing mousse before you wrap. Your curls need something to grab onto or they will fall immediately trust me!
✨ Take smaller sections. If the hair will not wrap around the barrel you are working with too much. Cut the section in half and watch the curl form.
✨ When the curl feels hot do not drop it. Hit that cool shot until the hair is fully cooled so the shape sets in place.
✨ Clip the curls while they cool especially around the hairline where hair is finer plus we touch it all day. This is the secret to that salon finished look.
✨ At the verrrrrry end, run a tiny bit of serum through the ends for shine and polish without breaking up the curl too much!!
