Is it reasonable to have my contractor replace these boards? I just hard my carpet replaced with engineered hardwood and there is big color variation in the boxes, which I missed when we selected it from the samples/talked to sales guys. I think these dark wood strips look super out of place. My contractors are done with the floors and almost done with painting - is it reasonable to ask them to swap these boards with a better color match?

Help. Installing library with non square walls. I am making a library room for my wife and when I went to install the base frame I noticed the two walls I am installing it on are not square. I have around a 1 inch gap from the walls that can be seen in the second image if I install the base frames square. Should I shim it here and then shim everything on the right wall whenever I drive a screw into a stud? Or would it be better to have everything flush to the walls and give up on being square? The joys of an old house….
